No it didn't I checked it, it was 14.2A. All boxes had an Sega Superstar Tennis sticker all over the front, so I think they are former standard Arcade boxes.

This has been a good tread.

For those in Northern Virginia I found at least 7 Xbox Jasper Arcades at the Falls Church Best Buy. They had obviously just had a large shipment of Arcades. I stopped counting at 7 and bought 2 for a friend and myself.

Mine had the 12.1A and the 150W PS. Still hoping for Pro but none of the 30 they had were Jasper. If anyone in Northern Virginia find a place with Pro please post. BTW it was funny to find a number of Pros with 0843s with the window pulled back where folks were trying to look at the 12.1A vs. 14.2A

Good Luck

You know, I'm beginning to take other people's suggestion on abandoning my quest for a Jasper PRO and get a Jasper Arcade and then buy the 120 gb hard drive. That would roughly be the same cost as a PRO and I would get the jasper!

ah heck Im really getting slow in my old age.Just noticed that this has been posted.Doh

14.2A PSU is by no means an indication that it is Falcon. Even 14.2A on the console is not a guarantee that it's Falcon. There are many reports of Jaspers labeled 14.2A. The same thing happened with early Falcons being labeled 16.5A (like Xenon/Zephyr). This is all well documented in my articles on AnandTech and throughout this thread.

**EDIT** I forgot to mention that 256MB internal memory is also pretty much a guarantee for Jasper. Best confirmation is still by the power connector.

Now for the pics of the Jasper XBOX 360 Pro (money shot baby!!! )

Anyway, I have much clearer pics this time. Please excuse the lighting. It was 2am and flourescent lighting. I got as many shots as I thought would be pertinent to our curiosity. Upon inspection, it appears that the flash ram is 16mb...not 256mb like many of us hoped. I will share, that on my motherboard, there is no mention of Jasper anywhere. I also did not take pics of my PSU and female PSU socket. No point really....you will see the Jasper GPU very clearly in my pics. Well, let get started shall we...??

JASPER GPU
JASPER CPU
motherboard top side
motherboard bottom
flash ram
system ram mobo top
system ram mobo bottom
HANA scaler chip
southbridge chip
capacitors
nidec fan

If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them as quickly as I can......

****<<EDIT....somebody more experience than myself should look at the flash ram identification. I have read on HYNIX'S site that the chip might be 128mb....But also, looking at Moddage's pic on his arcade, if I plug in the numbers for his flash ram it says it's 2gb....??? I read the description on mine as 16mX8it....so I drew the conclusion of 16mb of flash ram. Moddages arcard flash ram is listed as 256mX8bit......
Great pics Darrell! You are correct, it is 16MB (megabytes) of flash RAM on your Pro. So there goes that theory.

If you do give up the PRO search for a Jasper Arcade, check Best Buy. If the one in your area is running the same promo as mine, which it should be. Buy a Jasper and one of the games in their ad. All of the games are lame IMO, but you can but Ratatoulli (it's the cheapest) for $19.99 and they'll give you a $50 gift card on the spot, which if you buy the HDD in a seperate transaction you can use it immediately and you'll end up an extra $30 ahead.

I think this is nationwide, and it's also offered online (which isn't great if you want to guarantee a jasper). Be sure to check your area's weekly ad. I checked mine and Avatar is one of the games offered, and it's even cheaper than Ratatouille ($14.99).

Thought about it, but figured that thunder would best come from you.

Anyway, any chance you can use your pull on that site to get Anand to do a HEAT ANALYSIS on the different revs? I was thinking having the same game loop the intro scene or whatever for 1 or 2 hours straight on each console, then measure the heat coming out the back side of it. I'm sure Anand could come up with even better scenarios .... ?????

Thinking about heading up to Northgate in Seattle to check out the Best Buy there later today. Will be crossing my fingers.

Hehe - thanks for waiting I did enjoy announcing it actually

Heat output as strictly defined is not easy to measure actually. We could probably do exhaust temp and/or heatsink temp, but I have a feeling Anand is all Jaspered out for the time being. We already know the electrical power consumption and I would expect heat production to be proportional, so I'm not sure we'd learn a whole lot more. I will ask though.

Here ya go.......

Jasper Pro Box Label

Thanks Darrell. My Falcon Pro had the same label essentially, including the 52T-00141 SKU. I have a theory now that you've documented Pros to only have 16MB of memory and shown me the label:

The new SKUs and different labels will only show up on Arcades because they are the only ones that are different in any noticeable way to the general public or in any way that MS will acknowledge - and that is in the form of the internal memory (and lack of memory unit) on the Arcades. Therefore, Microsoft does in fact have to give their retailers a way to distinguish these units externally in the case of returns, etc. Newegg and Dell already have the different SKU listed separately actually. I have a feeling we won't see such an obvious designation on the Pros and Elites. It also explains why Jasper is targeted more towards Arcades, at least early on, since there is more cost savings there without the external memory card.

Wow. Thanks Darrell for the pic. Mmm, I don't think I've seen a 843X in Denver. Only 841X, 842X, and 844X. They were not Jasper.

I'll keep an eye out for this on the PRO, if I don't pick up the Arcade.

Pele, cool idea! Yes, today I saw 4 Jasper Arcades but wasn't aware of their game special. I'm going to check on this....

Thanks again!

Well BB has the 120GB for base price of $150. So minus the $30 or so difference with the gift card, it would drop the prices to, approx, $120.

The cheapest price I saw for the 120GB is at newegg for $135 so this is still the cheaper buy.

I would buy the HDMI cable for $5 or so.....I think I would have a Jasper "Elite" without the black color...

Man, you guys are good...

Well I should point out that I already have a 360 and have the headset so there wouldn't be any performance difference than my "modified" Jasper Arcade vs. Jasper Elite. Of course, minus the black color.

Leward - I ended up going by the BB near the Dayton Mall today. They have a ton of 845X Jasper Arcades. I confirmed 9 of them and they had even more arcades stacked on the racks above the aisles.

The Pros and Elites were all 0837 and older.

Darrell,

thank you for your pics and all your help since the 8-bit boards.
The fact that they are using pads still surprises me.

Has anyone figured out why we are seeing Jasper Arcades as coming from FDOU
and the Pro's as coming from CSON so far ????

Jasperhunter, do you know why this might be occuring ???? Do you think
they are using FDOU solely for Arcade production.

I am thinking I may not be able to hold off on the Elite and may sell
my Falcon (837) and get the CSON Jasper considering the nidec fans are
quieter...

After three months of searching I finally got my Jasper Pro!

My box label has exactly the same details as on the one Darrell posted above:
Lot 0843X
Team: CSON
SKU: 52T-00141
"XBOX 360 PRO SYSTEM VALUE BUNDLE 2008 EN/E"

On the Console:
MFR Date: 2008-10-29
Last 5 digits of serial number: 84407
12,1 A, Jasper Power Plug

It did come with the 175W Power Supply. I would have preferred 150W, but I'm not complaining!

This was purchased at the westside Madison, WI Target. The glass case was empty, but I nicely asked the woman working to see if they had any more, and asked if she could be extra nice and pull the highest lot number they had. She was very, very helpful and the first unit she brought out was perfect. By the way, after the $40 giftcard that came with it and 10% off for opening a new charge card the effective price was $234 plus tax.

Thanks to everyone for their fantastic help in this search!

Hey thanks!! Glad to know I don't have to worry about finding a Jasper arcade. But I am definitely hitting up Target's this weekend to see about the elite Japser. The target's have been out of stock on elites for a couple days. I called the huber heights store and the lady said they get shipments on Mon, Wed, sometimes Friday, and Saturday. She said Saturday they will likely get some. I hope this means they will be the newest elites, hopefully that means Jaspers.
