Some have the red ring, but it should be a lot better. If you have (and generally it's available within 30 days of purchase) an extended warranty, I'd not worry about it.Originally posted by: Skoorb

I BOUGHT A PRO (60GB JASPER) EARLIER TODAY!!!!!!! I have pics!!!!
Got it at Best Buy in Wilmington, Delaware....I showed an employee the 12.1 marking spot I was looking for. I had checked every unit on the floor (no luck), but he found one in the back storeroom that had it, and I immediately bought it....manufacter date was 11/08/08...Best Buy had the $50 Gift Card Promo going on, so I got that too. SO HAPPY!

Are the Falcons alright?
Slightly off topic for the thread, but I just got one for xmas, and I was wondering if I should box it all back up and try to go get a Jasper instead.
This is my first foray into the ever so reliable xbox 360.

Yes but less power means less heat which means less of a chance that the GPU "pops" out of place.

I just recently bought a Jasper Pro. It's my first 360. I checked the memory and it said that i only had 48.8 gigs on the hard drive.

Also, I have had the 360 for about a day now and I just recently started hearing something rattle inside the system. I think its loose whatever it is because it only does it if i shake it. Do you think its the eye on the disc drive?

First rule of thumb like the others have said.....don't shake it. Nothing good will ever come from it.
Anyway....NO, there is nothing wrong with your XBOX 360. In the front, by the memory card ports there is a cage that houses a small ball. My speculation is that this is the sensing unit that detects when your XBOX is vertical or horizontal.
All 360's will have that rattle sound......
