Why do you "have" to buy it? This is what I don't understand... You want the elite, but you'll take red anyway as long as it's an elite. So what exactly is it about the elite that you like?? Cause you could even save some money buying an arcade and the 120GB hard disk on the side, if the storage is what you're wanting... If it's the color I understand, (but if you're willing to take a red one, then that's not it), but if not, then this whole elite thing is junst pointless....

I have an original XBox 360 (20Gb HD and no HDMI port), so what I want is:
- 120Gb
- HDMI
- Jasper

It cost the same (at least in the US) to get an Arcade + 120Gb + HDMI cable, or get an Elite.

I really like the black Elite, but if I can't get one, then the red Elite will give me Resident Evil instead of whatever the Arcade includes (which I don't really care about).
Plus, I'll have a limited edition console

This is just my logic behind my decision and how I feel about the whole arcade/black/red thing.

* Delta - Black and white label
* Sunons - Green and white label
* Nidec - All back label

Picking up my RE5 Elite in a few hours. I will be re-selling the RE5 game as soon as I open the box, if they will let me. Spare me the, "why are you even bothering getting one if you don't even care for the game, blah blah." I want it cuz its Red, its got a Jasper, its limited edition, I've earned it. I'll post whatever info I can as soon as I get back home and have it hooked up to my 22in SyncMaster LCD monitor. =D

Just picked up my RE5 Elite. I was #1 and the only one in line to pickup the system, everyone else was in line to get the game itself.

Looks like I have the fans with the all black label. I shined a light in and they didnt appear to have a label at all.

Picked up my RE5 Elite tonight, it's a jasper manufactured 1-22-09. I was the only one there tonight picking up a console, I was #21 in line and everybody else just bought the game.

I can't be too sure but yea. I mean, I didn't crack the case open, just shined a light through the back, and it looked like there weren't any labels at all.

Sad story though, it's freezing at the start screen of NFS: Most Wanted, one of my favorite games. Been playing RB6V:2 for over 2 hrs now, no problems. So I'm installing it to the HDD to see if that works any better.

Also, it did not come pre-loaded with the NXE.

Update from Sweden, looked at my local GAME dealer (fridhemsplan).

They had lot 909 ADUE with the RE5 bundle (black xbox)... however it was 14.2A
Since people had reported getting jaspers at lot 908 I was ready to buy it.. what a disappointment

You did the same mistakes as I did, you looked at the Lot on the box but you should have looked at the serial-number-lot.

Can you please post some pictures of the fans? And the freeze is probably because the disc is the scratched or the game is just buggy. You should install all, or at least most of your games since you've got like 110gb of space

I don't know where you're getting your prices, but I'm talking about the US, and an Elite costs $399.99, while you can get an Arcade for $199.99, the 120GB is going for $146.99 at Amazon (no tax even!) or $149.99 at Bestbuy, and an hdmi cabble at amazon you can get for like $2... (let's say $5 with shipping...).. So that comes up to aprox $350, saving yourself $50 if you don't care for the color.... (plus, me personally, even though I prefer the black color, I always hated how on the Pro and Elite they make the tray SILVER not matching anything, while on the arcade it's white matching the console...).

Not bad... but they don't have the Jasper chip. Mine came w/ the Falcon.

Hey guys, I just went to Gamespot in Sweden and bought myself an Xbox 360 elite RE5 LE. It's a Jasper with 12.1A,150W brick and lite-on drive. It got the delta fans but I didn't expect anything else. It was a pretty good deal I got everything in the console package including RE5 and SS2THDR and three extra games, Lego Indiana Jones & Kung Fu Panda and Skate 2.

I'm glad I can finally install all of my games and enjoy them without hearing the constant buzz from the DVD-drive. The deltas are not that loud, I think they area a little bit quieter than the deltas in my Xenon unit, but haven't done a side-by-side sound comparison yet because I'm transferring stuff from my old 20gb to the new 120gb. Aaaand... what more... My impression on the red color? Well..It's red... blood red. May look a bit cheap, but it's still cool because it's different from other 360s, and it's limited edition so that's cool. I hate it.... (Just kidding )

2) Can i copy my friends' game to my hard drive and then give it back to him and we can both play it?

No. You still need the CD in the drive while playing. The only diff is that the drive won't be spinning cuz it will run off the harddrive so it will be much quieter...

Just got my Xbox 360 Elite RE5 Ltd Edition! As expected, 12.1a and 150w power brick, a Jasper! I'm happy. Whats the best way to tell which fans you have?

Mine is Mfr. Date - 01/16/2009, Team TMEM. I can take pics for anyone if they want, just let me know of what...

Based off shining the flashlight at the back of the 360, there are no labels or black labels on the fans. Does that mean Nidec? Delta is White/Black, Sunon is Green/White, I don't see any white at all, I just see black.

The thing is that I run my audio through optical cable, and for that I need the Microsoft HDMI cable, unless there's another solution I'm not aware of. So that's my price match.

Oh, and I actually like the silver cover fo rthe DVD tray instead of the Arcade's white

It's one of the options on NXE when the disk is in the drive.
It takes about 10min and takes up 5 - 8Gb of HD space.?
