I had the same issue with my last 2 Jasper 360's. Ended up getting a Falcon elite and im much happier.

I know, it sux. noise was half the reason i was waiting for jasper, the other half was the reduced heat. i always planned on modding my 360 eventually anyway so the reduced likelihood of failure is more important i guess, but i was still a bit disappointed.

Well at least we know the Elite Jasper exists in Australia. Now if I could only find one in NC. I continued my search this week and there was nothing older than 845.

yeah i should've mentioned that. it was bundled with halo 3 and fable 2. It also came with terminator salvation but i think that was just an "in store" deal as it didnt come in the box itself like halo and fable did.

Of course that is in australia. I am going to delude myself into thinking that they won't be available in US for another 6 months anyway.

Wow... those look like legit photos, which would make this the first sighting I've seen of an actual black jasper. Have any others surfaced online, just for confirmation?

They have, one in Japan and one in Germany. Be aware that this information came via the 360 drives database site and it has been known to be a little unreliable. But I know at least one of the black Elites had photos. They are definately making the things, and I cannot see the Elite being discontinued as they possibly need a machine with a min of 120GB for all the upcoming stuff. I have come across loads of people that have just about filled their 120GB.

UK Elite Jasper hunters

I have found some BLACK ELITE JASPERS in the UK! They are LOT 920 FDOU and I check the rating 12.1A! I found some at an Asda near me. I tried a couple of stores.

No, unfortunately I am as poor as can be at the moment. Had to spend the Jasper savings on the mortgage a couple of months ago. At least I know they are here though and the next time I have a spare few quid I will jump in.

There is a guy on one of the Xbox.com forums that I go on and he says that his friend works at Toys R Us, and they have some in. I'll let you know if they come back with a decent sighting.

You'll have better luck getting an answer on the forums at xbox.com. But to answer your question, as far as I know there are no confirmed sightings in the US, confirmed with photos.

no fella. And as Quad points out, you would be better off trying the xbox.com forums as they see more activity. This thread was great, but most of the contributers found a Jasper and left. I only check by here a couple of times a month.

Well, it's been a while, but I think that we're almost there

I just came back from my local Fry's Electronics store (@ Fountain Valley) and they have in stock JASPER Elites! Yeap, the ones in the new packaging with less accessories (white box, not the dark gray box).

I checked and you can clearly see the 12.1A. It had a manufacturing date of 2009. Didn't bother to check the LOT # (forgot about it).

The price was $399, so I'm waiting a month or so until the rumored price cut happen.

Black Elite Jasper: ACQUIRED!

I had actually purchased a black Elite Falcon at the beginning of the summer, but it <cough> suddenly developed problems right about the same time as these new Jasper Elites started appearing... Fortunately, I was still within my 90-day return policy, so the store was nice enough to swap my <cough> defective Falcon for a brand-new Jasper. I only switched the actual console itself, so I still have the HDMI cable, digital-optical adapter, Halo 3 / Fable 2, etc. Plus, I got back $60 since the price had dropped!

I just attached my original hard drive, and everything is working beautifully. Do I need to do the "license transfer" process? All my downloaded Xbox Live Arcade games are already working fine, as are some videos I purchased. I'll apparently need to delete & reinstall game to the hard drive, but other than that I haven't found any problems with the console switch.

Oh, and for those of you hunting for black Elite Jaspers: the local Best Buy had a ton of 'em in the new white boxes, and every one I checked had a July 2009 manufacturing date. I checked the amperage on one, and confirmed it's a Jasper. Target had a mix: some store had the new white-box Jaspers, others had the older grey-box Falcons. I didn't see any older units packaged in the new white boxes. It's certainly possible, so you should double-check the manufacturing date. And the amperage, if possible.

well, if you can go by manufacturing date, all 5 of the new box elite's I saw at best buy were built in the last 3 months.

So I finally got a Japer Elite!
Two days ago I bought one of the new $300 Elites.
I'm in the process of transferring the data from my 20GB HD to the new 120GB HD using a 6GB memory card... wish me luck.

200% chance they are jaspers, especially considering they are custom cases. All the new 360's are jaspers, just have to make sure you don't get one that's been sitting on the shelf for a while.

I have just ordered a Modern Warfare 2 special edition 360. Many thanks to all those guys that contributed to this thread. My search seems to have taken longer than most, but November 10th will bring a 250GB Jasper to my door.
