As you?re all aware, there have been rumors of a price drop for the Xbox 360 coming along later this year. The official word from folks in the know is that there are currently no plans for a price drop this fall.

And, it makes sense when you think that their console will be $100-$200 cheaper than a PS3 that will be in extremely short supply.

True, makes sense with the already significant price discrepancy. IMHO tho, even so small as a $50 drop would make an even bigger impact. Heck, even if they came out with a "pack" that included a game that'd be sweet (didn't they do that with Xbox?).

Think Premium pack with PGR included or something like that. $200 less AND a game?!?!? WINNAR!

I got my wife her own gamertag this weekend so she wouldn't muck up my gamertag records with her play and so that I don't have to worry about any friends she has made bugging me when I'm on instead of her. Now she is fully hooked on Uno and wants her own Xbox360 up in the Master Bedroom so she can play Uno and other Xbox Live Arcade games whenever she wants.

What kind of monster have I created....

Street Fighter 2 Dated - July 30th.

LMAO ... pretty much 5 months after the promised "first Q of 2006" release date, there is an official release date by MS. if this game is anything but lagfree on xbox live, i will be so pissed.

Also note, teh URL is austaliarn (en-AU) and when you make it US (en-US) it still says summer 2006.

You had to have two Live Gold accounts didn't you? I wanted to make one for my son, but you have to purchase two seperate accounts for it to work on Live. That's the impression I was under. Is that correct?

Yeah that is pretty stupid. What about a family who has two kids or something? They should at least offer the 2nd Gold Account 50% off, or something like that. They could make it where both gamertags have to be on the same system so you can't just get your friend one half off too.

<shrugs> in testing. 3DRealms sent out a last second note last week saying that the Prey demo was still getting certified by MS before being released onto Live. I'd hope it comes out this week sometime.

Son of a bitch! My 360 just started its travel to get fixed today. Looks like I'll be waiting to get to play it. =(

Have any of you guys played Over G? I just noticed some guys on my friends list were playing it, and I looked it up. I think a jet game like that would be pretty sweet, but I don't want to drop $60 on it without getting some player "reviews" first. I think it looks decent. Anyone out there already have it?

Well, I liked the Prey demo but I am not as thrilled as I wanted to be sadly. I enjoyed it a bit, and liked the weapons and the soul-out-of-body stuff, but it wasn't anything too thrilling after that. The portals were neat and the wall walking was fun (turning it off while a bad guy was on it was pretty funny) but after the 3rd time it wasn't special. Frame-rate was decent, graphics are nice, but it's TOO DAMN dark for me. Atmosphere is one thing, but i cranked the brightness to 10 on the options, then even turned it up on my TV. The one part of the demo where you are not in the dark looks so much better and nicer. I don't know, if it's 90% that dark, I might just rent it.

Prey is pretty fvcking bad. They really really need to stop putting out these dumb, generic, rehashed FPS games. The FPS series is so watered down right now that none of them feel original and offer nothing new that is just plain fun.

Prey is like doom 3 but worse.

I actually think that comparison is unfair to Doom 3. I thought D3 was a decent game, though obviously nothing groundbreaking, and Prey just sucks. It's just a completely generic, goofy sci-fi FPS.

Cloning Clyde, Lumines Live, Texas Hold'em, Frogger, and Street Fighter II have all been added to the "Coming Soon" section on the Live Arcade page.

Frogger, SF II, and Cloning Clyde all have a release date of "Summer 2006"...which means it could be all the way into September.

Lumines is showing July as a release date.

Texas Hold'em is showing March as a release date.
