OK, I haven't read through this whole thread, but what are the cheapest options for wireless networking on the Xbox 360? I don't wanna spring $100 for the official Microsoft unit. Can anyone recommend a good 802.11g wireless bridge that works or any other solution?
I could be wrong, but I believe that you can pick up one of those cheap $20 or so USB wireless adapters to use. At the very least Linksys, and probably Netgear and D-Link sell wireless game adapters intended for consoles. I think they sell for $40 or so.
I don't believe you can use a USB wireless adapter with the 360 other than the official 360 wireless adapter.
If you can find a Linksys WRT54G v4 router or earlier, you can flash it so that you can use it as a bridge. You can usually find them on eBay for ~$50. Cheaper than the 360 wireless adapter but I'll be honest and say that the 360 wireless adapter is extremely easy to setup and performs well.
