Yeah I got it today, I have a feeling this is going to keep me up for hours on end. It's a lot of fun, although I'm a little iffy on the grid system used for battles.

Product Update for SR
We are working on a Live product update for Saints Row. It will fix various problems found after release, in both single and multiplayer.
We are working hard on the update now. Here are a few (but not all) of the issues we expect it to address:
[*]Improvements to the way the game handles packet loss and bandwidth management between players. This will address the issues commonly cited as ?lag?, and general synchronization problems between the players? clients (vehicles/players warping around, etc).
[*]The system for rating a player?s quality-of-service has been improved, and made less conservative. This means you?ll see many more matches with 10-12 player limits.
[*]Fix for the ?clothes stealing? exploit in multiplayer
[*]Fix for widescreen formatting issues in certain resolutions
[*]Changes to Matchmaking phase, to get players in the game faster
Microsoft provides product updates to anyone with a Live connection, even without a paid membership.
Problems using Gang features, timeouts when using Gang menu
Gangs are managed by a dedicated set of servers. During peak hours on release night in North America (Tues 8/29) those servers hit an unforeseen limit. Yesterday (Wed) the server team increased that limit, and since then it appears to have addressed the problems with Gang features.
We?re monitoring this closely, in any case.
Problems joining Party Lobbies
This was actually due to the gang server problem, as described above. The fix for that also addressed the timeouts when joining a Lobby.
A related issue here is the Lobby connect dialog doesn?t allow the player to abort when the gang server is not responding. That particular aspect will be addressed in the SR product update, in case the servers have similar issues in the future.

Would you guys recommend Dead Rising? I played the demo and was mildly amused, but I keep hearing about how much people live it (despite the horrible save system). So, is it worth it?

love this game...
hrmm, you must not be running in HD because i rented it last nite and it runs to bad that i didnt even want to play it. i bought it but did not open it, but then i wanted to rent it to make sure it was worth my $65... its not.
it runs really bad, and the game is an exact rip off of GTA... its... lame.
yah he is running in 480p, he said it in another thread.
but even with the graphical tearing, this game is so much fun. i got over the tearing and it is much more fun than GTA imo.

I'll second that. I bought the game last Friday (after returning the crappy DOA4), and although this is the first 360 game that I noticed tearing on, it is a blast to play.

yep, been playing Saint's row since Friday and loving it so far. The multiplayer lags pretty badly but hopefully they correct that in an update. But either way the single player is fun.

What is the fastest way to make money in this game? Those snatch activities only net me like $150 a pop.
What about ammo? I bought a machine gun for $650, but when the bullets run out, it seems like I have to pay another $650 for ammo. Am I doing something wrong here?

I got my 360 today, along with PGR3 and Saints Row.
I am actually pretty disapointed with the games, PGR3 feels way to arcadish, not like a real racing game at all, Saints Row just feels...fake, the graphics just make it look like a step backwards to me compared to San Andreas. There is something about the graphics on 360 I dont really like.

Agreed. Amazing that so many people think PGR3 is a sim style game. There really aren't many racers on consoles that are really realistic. You want a sim or a more realistic racer there are plenty of excellent pc racers (GTR series for example) out there. PGR3 is a very good arcade racer. Maybe Forza Motorsport 2 will be his speed once its released.
Saints Row is not the greatest looking game out there (some parts are underwhelming) but a step backwards from San Andreas?? LAWL Someone needs to play the GTA series again and take a better look. Its a wonderful series but its fairly basic looking (great city design is what the series has).
The only thing I'm disappointed with when it comes with visuals in 360 games is the lack of good anisotropy filtering (PGR3 is guilty of blurriness on the track due to no AF) but thats the pc gamer in me talking.

What an amazing looking game especially for a launch title. I can't wait to see what they do when they really get more experience with the hardware.

FN3 was not a launch title, it came out in February. Also FN3 is a game with pretty much no depth. It is so basic, I was kind of pissed I bought it.
I agree with the other poster though, Saints Row and PGR3 are far from graphical powerhouses on the 360.
Also in Saints Row, there is a basketball court that has the AK just sitting there, and it respawns like every 10 seconds. You can literally fill up 500 rounds of it within a few minutes. I'll just go stand on it and go get a drink or something. If someone gets me a screenshot of the map, I can show you exactly where it is.
