Official Xbox 360? Thread...

Is it just me, or has Splinter Cell always had the worst multiplayer? I'm probably going to buy Rainbow Six instead (and already have a preorder for Gears Of War in) this holiday season.

I bought the Xbox Vision Camera mostly so it could pull double duty on my PC. TotemBall has to be the most tiring game ever. There's literally an Achievement for playing 20 minutes straight.

Well my 1st shipment 360 crapped out, but M$ is going to cover it under warranty (I guess they extended it). However, Splinter Cell comes out this week and Gears of War is less than a month. I am expecting my pre-paid box soon, but what is the typical turn around time to get a replacement?

Has anyone bought one and returned it once they got theirs back to hold them over?

It took me almost three weeks for me to get a shipping box, and tomorrow will be four weeks since I first called MS about my XBox 360 not working. I haven't received my XBox 360 back yet, but it has only been a week.

Call of Duty 3 is being released on Nov 10th for the 360.

The PS3 version isn't coming out till March...ouch.

I believe someone already filed one. I don't think it has gone over very well because of MS's response with extending the warranty period and relatively quick replacements.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting one for christmas, but forget it. This is too much to deal with for a system.

I got the dates wrong (I think). It sounds like this may be a European release list.

pretty fast turnaround... but I do live only 3 hours from the service center in the Dallas area...

My Xbox 360 Plat was also defective right out of the box (Manufactured in April). Lasted about 3 minutes and then it froze in the dashboard while I was setting it up. Ever since then it always froze within 5 minutes regardless of where I was. Attaching the intercooler makes it last maybe a minute more. Immediately powering it back on after it just froze leads to maybe 0 seconds or a few seconds on the dashboard so it seems like some heat issue.
The repair center is at MCALLEN, TX 78503 according to the pre-paid label as I just got my pre-paid box today.
Too bad I won't be getting my Xbox 360 back as soon as I would like.

Arg. I am dyin for info on it, or at least a release date. I wonder if Sony has a contract for "X" many months before other systems can get it.

Xbox Live is still down. Some say they were able to go online and download stuff but the network crapped out. Must be some major maintenance going on but it feels like forever since Live was up and running.


Splinter Cell is out in stores I think and I am so tempted to get it but I'll wait for the pc edition and compare them both before buying.

I just picked up Splinter Cell. I haven't played it yet, but what I found interesting is there is a warning sticker on the box that says you can't play the game without a hard drive or memory card. This is the first game I've seen with this warning. I hate the fact that I'm working at home, the xbox is 10 steps away, but I can't play it. Damn you responsibility!

Hmm...maybe that's referring to save games or downloadable content. That would make sense. I don't see how it would be required to just play the game.

I just played NCAA online and its terrible. Its a shame as the previous years have been great :-(
