Just picked up the game at bestbuy, but have yet to play it. I will here in a few minutes though

I'm kinda of curious about the HD-DVD drive also, but I'm afraid to commit to it. You know Microsoft will release some super-mega HD-DVD/100GB HDD 360 this time next year with HDMI, and us suckers who bought into the original, gimped hardware will help fund it.

I picked up Call of Duty 3 tonight. Single player is entertaingin enough, about the same as COD2. Fun, but nothing new. But the multiplayer, they really hit the sweet spot on this. I didn't experience any lag and the battles were really fun. There is no lobby, you just jump in a game and after the game is over it's a short wait till the next game.

Circuit City said they'd get Gears of War in tomorrow. I'll use the free $10 gift card I got with COD3 along with my 15% coupon when I buy it.

I will hold off on COD3 until after I've spent some serious time playing GoW and R6.

I'll probalby only rent it though, didn't buy COD2 because after renting it I was pretty much done with it.

Man GoW is a lot of fun. I was playing multiplayer a LOT last night. One thing I learned is that you CANNOT just go out shooting in the open OR YOU WILL GET OWNED! also, sticking together with just 1 person can help so much. Never stray off by yourself.

Yeah, there's nothing worse than going into an area with a teammate and then turning around and seeing your teammate gone and then a second later turning around and seeing 3 players from the opposing team headed your way. :laugh:

Certain Xbox Live subscribers got an e-mail today asking for their participation in a super long survey earlier today. Normally surveys like these are boring, there?s a reason certain companies pay you to fill them in, but this one was rather interesting. It asked participants how interested they were in certain first party accessories and Live features. Among the subjects was a web browser, a joystick specifically designed for Xbox Live Arcade games, a mini-keyboard you can plug into your controller for text messaging and a black ?premium? controller. Sounds like you can do a local split-screen and play multi-player online. Only in non-ranked matches though.

"Yes, I asked this very same question in a thread yesterday. Its very tricky and I don't know why they made it so dificult. Here is how you do it follow my instructions step by step. When you are in the main menu, go to verses, then pick if you want to play ranked or player match, now you will see the screen asking you if you want to host a match or search for one, at this point have the second player on the second controller hit the Y button. This will bring up the xbox menu and there should be a guest ID for them to log on as. Like I said, very dificult cause you can ONLY have a gues join in that screen were you pick if you want to host a game or search for one. Hope that helps ya."

You mean the level with the stairs? and the metal fencing?
i remember you doing some pretty good sniping on the left side when we started out at the bottom.

that's one of my fav maps so far... I like starting at the bottom more than the top, though.

Have you played ranked matches at all yet? I'm not much of a "rank" person, so I haven't even played one ranked game yet

Hah yah that was the map! I HATED that map the first 2 rounds, until I found that sniper rifle lol. THen I started to do pretty damn good with it. Then at the top when we realized that smoke grenades we key we started to use them and make good moves.

I agree that map is awesome now. Starting at the bottom REALLY seemed like it was unfair at first, until I found that Sniper rifle. it's amazing how a weapon can balance out the fairness of a map.

I haven't done ranked yet. I just don't like going into those games unless I have a decent group of guys to go into, like I used to in halo 2. I'm not sure though if you can go into a ranked match with 3 friends and just play against 4 others or not. I just dont like playing with random people in ranked matches cause people take that crap too seriously.

Confirmed: The Xbox 360 HD DVD drive is a standard PC-compatible drive:

Ok I connected the HD-DVD to my PC via USB. My PC recognized it right awat as XB360 HD-DVD player. I get a pop up window of the "WELCOME TO THE FOUND NEW HARDWARE WIZARD" I minimized that win & went to MY PC, then saw that my PC listed the XB360 HD-DVD add-on as CD DRIVE (G) , when i cliked on it, it asked me to insert a disc, I popped in KING KONG, then clicked on it again & I got the following error pop up message: "Win can not read from this disk, this disk might be corrupted, or could be using a format that is not compatible with Win."

I suspect that Windows XP needs a UDF 2.5 driver.

It will be interesting once someone with a Mac tries it, cuz IIRC, Mac OS X 10.4 has UDF 2.5 support built-in.

My skill level on GoW (considering I haven't even played the game yet - roomie bought it yesterday) is about "Blind Grandma", so I'm sure you'll be pretty good at it. (Compared to me anyway)
