chris - dood you kick major ass at R6. That jimbofat guy - I had played about 8 games with him - his team *always* won...think he got pissed off after that last game on the dam (and probably the Research Labs too). You kicked major ass. We'll have to play again.

Thanks man. You were just as much part of that beatdown of jimbofat's team as I was..it was great! I love joining up against obviously stacked teams and beating them. Did that to a few clans yesterday and they ended up kicking almost all of us out because they wanted to rank up...

Those guys were pretty good but predictable

It was great playing with you finally, we definitely need to do it again. It's nice to play with guys that know teamwork and just don't run around the map aimlessly. I am really loving this game, hopefully they will fix the bugs soon!

Yea definitely. I had played w/ jimbo on his team on the Dam before, so I knew how he and the rest of those guys played the map...made it easier IMO. But yea, they need to fix some of these bugs - the roomie and I played Terrorist Hunt for hours all weekend, the game kept freezing up at random points.

But yea, we'll have to play again. I'll probably be on tonight if you're up for it BTW - was your mic on? I couldn't hear you last night.

Man that pisses me off. I was wondering why you didn't talk. I was talking a lot. I thought you were just quiet That's the one bug that really drives me nuts..

I had played terrorist hunt a lot yesterday, and the only thing that really makes me mad is that sometimes the last 1 or 2 terrorists just disappear, and you can NEVER find them. It's not always a big deal because you just kill yourself and everyone tries again. But it needs to be fixed.
I will probably be on some tonight, so if I see you we can definitely get a game going! I'm up for anything, I usually play a little bit of everything that is team oriented.

Well damn I thought that was just me...I played Casino Vault yesterday, time was 30 minutes. I killed all the terrorists...but it still said there was 1 left, and I had no grenades. Spent 15 minutes just running up and down each hall, and then just said fvckit.

Not a problem. After I sent you the message that simply said "invite me", I thought maybe that sounded a little rude, so sorry if it did. It was more of a suggestion than a command .

Next time, if you ever see me log in, feel free to invite me. If I'm free to join, I will, and if not, I'll decline if I can. I sometimes invite others, but I don't people to feel obligated or anything. Maybe I'm just too damned weird about it all .

Holy crap man ... GoW is just such a great f-ing game! I used to only play it on weekends, but now that LOST and Prison Break are over, i have some spare TV time during the week, and I find myself playing this game multiplayer often now. I am just now learning a lot of stuff about the game and techniques that are making me a much better player.

I don't think there is a better felling than taking out a whole team single handedly. Yesterday I was playing 3v3 and my teammates were all killed, so it was 1v3. This was on the canals. I then ran into all 3 of the guys so I ran and 1 guy ran at me quickly. I had just ran over the grenades, so I picked up them and stuck this guy. 1 down.

Then it was 2v1 and I had the sniper rifle and was cornered near the end of the bridge where the sniper spawns. I then had guys coming at me from accross the bridge, and the other one came at me directly in front of me. So I ran down the stairs that are right there, under the middle bridge and picked up the torque bow. A guy was following me and I turned around and stuck him with an arrorw. now 1v1.

The last guy I ended up no scoping with the sniper from close range.

That is such a great feeling haha.

haha sounds like you are taking it to them in GoW. I haven't played it in about a week, maybe I need to pick it up again. I have definitely noticed how much better the average players have gotten though. When it first came out, the teams never really felt balanced consistently. The last time I played I found myself in many more challenging matches than the first couple weeks.
I love it too though... i don't care if it's 4 on 1, the torque bow can EASILY balance out the teams if you are outnumbered. A lot of times on train depot I can take out the entire opposite team with it before my teammates even get around there.
Tagging people is great. It's even funnier to go to the forums at xbox.com and read how many people are crying about it.

If I see you online I'll try to join up with ya, if I can break myself away from R6

I agree about really enjoying GoW more so now. I played for the first week or so it was out, then real life hit and just this past week playing more again and I have to say I'm enjoying it even more now than before.

Feel free to add me to friend's list as long as you aren't a high pitched 12-yr old ...

Heh - grenade tagging, pistol whipping, and chainsawing are the ones I constantly hear bitching and moaning about while playing.

to me...those are things that make the game fun and fresh. If I want "realistic" combat...I'll play GRAW or R6:V.

Heh - grenade tagging, pistol whipping, and chainsawing are the ones I constantly hear bitching and moaning about while playing.

i think those things balance it out perfectly. I will say though, grenade tagging is a little too easy sometimes. The only way to combat it is by getting a solid shot on them with the shotgun to stun them.

The chainsaw though I think is balanced PERFECTLY. if you run at someone with the chainsaw and get shot by 1 bullet, it stuns you making you vulnerable. You have to know when and how to use it.

The pistol, again, I think is balanced. I think it's good when weaker weapons have strong melees. I mean think about this ...

someone is shooting at you with the pistol, if you are a distance, chances are you will kill them with your gun cause you can spray quickly. What is the reason to get closer to them? The pistol guy on the other hand wants to get closer to have a chance of a melee on you. So if they come closer, switch to the boom shot.

I think the weapon balance in this game is pretty much nailed on the head perfectly. The power weapons are in a spot typically in the middle of the open, making it risky to even run and get it.

I will admit though, that the grenade tagging is pretty simple to do, and I think that if they made it like the chainsaw, where you held down B then pressed R to actually attack, and if shot while attacking, it would stun you, would solve the problem. Cause as it is now, you can pretty much run at someone and if they fire at you, it won't stun you (unless its a good shot with the shotty), and you can roll aat them, push b, and roll back.

Totally unrelated to GoW, but in R6 I wish there would be some kind of icon that pops up onscreen to let you know who is talking, and whether it be friend/enemy.

I've found myself talking to the ENEMY before not knowing they were the enemy, haha. I was asking for help and basically let them all know where I was.

I haven't read anywhere what the range is that you have to be within to hear the opposite team, anyone know?

Oh and GoW would be pretty boring without the tagging/chainsawing/pistol whipping. It keeps you on your toes. You have to be careful not to let anyone get within range to do those things..

Just finished GoW and am ready for some multiplayer action. Feel free to add my gamer tag, Corellias, and look forward to curb stomping some people!

You'd have to check individual retailers (online and in-store). Everyone is running different deals. Nothing official from MS.

Examples:
Wal-Mart - Bundling either Burnout Revenge or MotoGP with the 360.
Microcenter - $100 rebate (another $100 rebate if you sign up for their credit card)
Overstock - Premium for $350 or less with coupon

My only complaint about the chainsaw is players being invincible in multi-player while chainsawing someone.

My other complaint, to go along with that, is that it takes too long to chainsaw people. I mean if it's 1v2, and you are the 1, and you try to chainsaw the other guy, you are pretty much screwed.

But I guess it also means you just have to make your choice to use it wiser

Yep, that's when you go with the shotty or grenade tag if you're up close.

Ahh. Yea I hate that too in R6. I normally have it all figured out who's on my team beforehand though...maybe I'm just playing with the same guys too often though.

You missed out on some great games last night dood. I played a Team Survival - it ended up being a 1v4...against 3 Sergeant Majors, and a 2 bar dood. (Whatever that rank is) Killed the 2 bar dood coming down the stairs, took out another guy wandering around, the other two guys (one was a shield guy) were both together but the unshielded guy ran after me. Ended up flanking the shield guy. My greatest moment.

Oh - is it just me, or is Attack/Defend on Calypso the most popular thing on A/D? I like the map and know it inside out, but it just seems way overplayed.

Yeah man I wish I could have been on last night, but I had to go to some birthday parties.

I bet you felt good after taking out those guys when you were outnumbered, I know I would have been talking trash afterwards Especially against someone with 2 bars.. how do they rank up so much anyways? They must play non-stop... I think i'm some kind of a sergeant... The first sergeant rank I think..

I don't mind playing calypso, but it's definitely not my favorite map. I agree though, it seems like everyone constantly plays that one. I would much rather play LVU Library for A/D. Actually LVU Library is one of my all-around favorite maps. I also really enjoy Kill House in retrieval, for some reason I always do good on that map.

I am pretty happy with the maps that are available. There really aren't any maps that I dislike. I just hope they don't put out a map pack and charge for it and split up all the players.

I will be playing at least for a little while pretty much every night this week, so if you are on we will definitely play.

Agreed. I like hostage scenarios better (like Campus) because it's better balanced towards the Defend team. Briefcase missions - unless you just have a totally kick ass team on Defend, with higher skilled players - Attack is going to win probably 75% of the time, even with 100% balanced teams. If it was a "touch it and return", it would be 100% fair, like most CTF games, but it's just totally skewed in terms of Attack. My roomie was doing A/D on Calypso yesterday and his team got dominated 4 times in a row, just b/c they had one really good player with 25+ kills a game. (Just camped the Vault back entrance) I took over for one match, snuck down untouched, grabbed it, killed 4 guys on my way up, rappeled up, and capped it in 4 minutes. The guy was livid. It just goes to show how unbalanced it was.

Ever do Team Sharpshooter? I was really digging that last night. Even on the losing team you get a good number of experience points.

Oh - I'll be on tonight for sure after work, till the GF calls and needs some "quality time". See ya on, hopefully

I guess you are right about the hostage situations, that's probably why I love streets (or whatever it is with the church and the hostages).

I love team sharpshooter, I have played that a lot, and it's a lot of fun. I won't lie, we played that one night just trying to rank up because a bunch of people dropped and we didn't want to play 3vs3 retrieval or A/D

Gotta love quality time... luckily my wife had extra quality time all this weekend
