You know what its not a common thing for people to know about revisions and the only reason I do is because I have 2 ps2's that don't work because they can't read the disc anyone.Originally posted by: blurredvision
I'll bet you love the saying, "Hindsight is 20/20." I'm sick and fvcking tired of anonymous posters on the internet calling other anonymous posters on the internet morons and idiots just because they wanted an XBOX360 on launch. God forbid someone purchase a product with the expectations it work 100% like advertised. Waiting for successive revisions of consoles is not a well-known thing, so it's not like it's common knowledge.Originally posted by: Rickten
check out xbox scene for the abundance of defective unit stories. Imagine paying 1600 bucks for a defective unit waiting three months for replacement which turns out to be a refurb, then MS releases a version update and your stuck with a refurb version 1.0. MORONS and their money with absolutely no patience.
Did I purchase one? Nope. Will I later? Yes. Do I think it's funny that people are running into problems? Not one fvcking bit, and neither should you. I hope to god the next time you purchase something, be it a $30k automobile or a damn double cheeseburger from McDonald's, that it either breaks down and spews oil everywhere or they forget to leave the pickles off like you ask, that you remember your sense of humor you obtained about other's disappointments.
If you don't think people paying 1600 for a XBOX is stupid than we definetly disagree because it is absolutely stupid, I don't care if they have money to burn, its my opinion so pipe down. Next time I pay a 400% markup on something I deserve to get burned.
Well in that case, I apologize. But just remember that paying $1600 for a system on eBay is stupid, not the fact that people are buying first-revision units. I posted another hate-inspired post over in the Hardforums because of some moronic ass giving everybody hell for buying it and then having problems.Originally posted by: Rickten
well I didn't mean it that way, "imagine paying 1600....." having been burned by sony twice I do feel for the guys who waited in line to get it but I laugh at the people paying huge mark ups. Call me a hypocrite I don't care.Originally posted by: blurredvision

Nope.
And I'm pretty sure people who waited in line could give two craps what some dork on the internet thinks.

But...aren't those who waited in line basically also dorks on the internet?
Yes there is. You would need this cable, and this adapter.Originally posted by: MazerRackham
I don't want to get one of these until I get a HD set.
There's no way you can rig it up to DVI is there??

It is NOT common knowledge/sense not to buy a first-run product. If everyone followed your logic, then the product would go away just as fast as it got here, because no one would buy it. Are you trying to say you're not a fan of capitalism either? Simple 5th grade stuff is knowing not to eat your own feces, not knowing to wait and ask mommy for a new XBOX360 next June or July because you think there will be problems.Originally posted by: Specop 007
EVERYONE should know first runs of ANYTHING should be bought with the knowledge there WILL be problems. Thats common knowledge. People are leary of first run cars because of problems, electronics are no exception. THis is imple 5th grade stuff here.
So yes, I think its funny as all hell people got burned. Not necesarily because there was a product failure, but because people payed exhorbant amounts of money and waited in lines for days for a FIRST RUN PRODUCT.
I've got mine right in my rack with the rest of my A/V crap. I'm not making special room for it, that's crazy.Originally posted by: Queasy
I'm wondering where people who are reporting defects have their 360 sitting. It really is a good idea to not to sit it around other electronics that get warm like your receiver. The 360 generates alot of heat by itself.
I've got mine sitting in a seperate cubby of my entertainment center away from all the other electronics and where it has plenty of room to ventilate all the heat. Not a single problem so far.
