What I'm trying to say is that it is guaranteed that the product launch has all the bases covered and the launch plan/project plan has been picked apart/criticized to shreds by countless individuals. There will be no surprises as far as MS is concerned. These actions and "what ifs?" have been over analyzed to death internally.

Yeah, that I'm sure of. We were just kinda discussing what their path might be, just send a new one, a different repaired one thats ready, or repair that one.

Yeah, just thought I'd give a little bit of inside product launch/product manager point of view.

If I were the PM I'd demand the first ones be replaced with new and the "bad" ones be sent to engineering/development.

the first run are really the beta testers. How many people have had true problems with beta code? Not many percentage wise.

Well, be happy that you were able to at least play it some. Mine should finally get here tomorrow (I thought it was gonna get here today since Dell showed it having shipped the 29th and its being overnighted, but apparently they packaged/made the label on the 29th and didn't actually send it out until today). I did get my PSP power adapter so that when the PSP I got in an awesome deal gets here I can use it (the person had lost the power adapter part of the reason it was such a nice deal).

I'm trying to figure out if I want to open Madden and/or Kameo and play them or just trade them right off (more interested in PDZ and CoD2, even NFS: MW). I'm debating on keeping the 1 year Live card or not as well, as I didn't play on Live too much on the first Xbox (some PGR2, some Halo 2 although it was only fun a few times online, and Crimson Skies which was the most fun Live game for me). If I do keep it I'll make sure and post my gamertag. We could always do a time trial thing like that GT4 thread and we could actually watch the other people race.

Anybody know if Burnout 3 or Revenge are backwards compatible yet?

Oh also, is it possible for everyone playing on a single Xbox to have headsets? Correct me if I'm wrong but the first one didn't allow for that did it? Has it changed?

Damn if they don't want your life story just to sign up!!! It took me about a half hour before I was in.

You could register your name pre-launch on xbox.com. Thats what I did I got my gametag way before I got my xbox.

Ok, Never used Xbox live before.
I signed up (took forever) tonight and all that.
But now anytime I want to play a game (like Kameo) it signs me into xbox live automatic? Since it's connected to my profile and saves and stuff.

So anytime I play a game it logs me into live? Is there any option to have it where I tell it to sign me in? Besides a 2nd profile for "offline use" (I made one and I can't transfer my saves from my now "live" account)

why would you want it offline? in PGR3 at least to get the most of the game even single player you need to have Live connected.. it compares all race scores and kudos arcoss =live and ranks everyone real time as well as tracking achiviements and other things.. also i use the chat feature to chat with freinds even when not playing online races etc.

I'm definitely picking up GR3 ... I wanted that so bad at launch but it was pushed back

I'm also definitely picking up Full Auto. I played it at Zero Hour and man oh man was that game fun. It is like Twisted Metal meets Burnout 3. It's just fast and furious fun, and it was running at a VERY steady 60FPS at all times. I have a video of it I just have yet to put online.

I'm also going to definitely get Saints Row, Splinter Cell, and most likely Crackdown. And of course Gears of War, but that won't be out until holiday season next year most likely .

One game i'm definitely NOT getting is The Outfit. I played it at Zero Hour and the game just wasn't fun at all. But to each their own.

DOA4 I'm definitely not going to be getting either after playing it at Zero Hour. It is just the same exact DOA games we are used to w/better graphics, and I personally was just not a fan of the DOA engine ever, since it was in the arcade before psx DOA1 came out.

I agree that isn't not the greatest fighter but my brother-in-law have fun with both it and Soul Calibur. Besides, I've got a $50 gift card at EB Games I need to use and I don't think I can hold on to it all the way until March.

Heh Soul Calibur is in the same book as DOA for me ... i just do not like the play mechanics of that game as well

don't get me wrong, they can be fun in little bursts, like 20 minutes here and there, and only against other people, not the computer. i just don't like fighters like I used to back in the MK1,MK2, and KI1 days. My most played fighter right now is SF2 on xbox live

I still do not understand how people say NBA Live looks better than NBA2k6. I purposely tried them both while at Zero Hour because I personally thought NBA2k6 looked better from videos, but nba live was a graphical winner according to reviews.

However after playing both, my initial reaction is still the same. NBA 2K6 looks better than Live. When you walk by the TV and glance at the game, it looks like an actual NBA game is on television. The frame rate in Nba Live was pretty bad as well and had a lot of chopiness.

I think EA is paying some people off here ... however i still haven't seen any games running at anything lower than 720p.

I agree. I don't even have one of these cross-platform games. I've got PGR3 and PDZero. PGR3 is just drop dead gorgeous IMHO.....I'm still amazed at how good the Brooklyn Bridge looks. I don't think it looks that nice in real life.
