I can guarantee you they already have a process in place for defects and problems. Complete with scripts for the CSRs. I mean we're talking microsoft here. Sony, et all would do the same thing.
There is already a plan and process in place to handle these things. The paths are already set.
Damn I've been in corporate world WAY too long.
What I'm trying to say is that it is guaranteed that the product launch has all the bases covered and the launch plan/project plan has been picked apart/criticized to shreds by countless individuals. There will be no surprises as far as MS is concerned. These actions and "what ifs?" have been over analyzed to death internally.
Yeah, that I'm sure of. We were just kinda discussing what their path might be, just send a new one, a different repaired one thats ready, or repair that one.
Yeah, just thought I'd give a little bit of inside product launch/product manager point of view.
If I were the PM I'd demand the first ones be replaced with new and the "bad" ones be sent to engineering/development.
the first run are really the beta testers. How many people have had true problems with beta code? Not many percentage wise.
Meanwhile, I'm lovin' mine.
Yeah.
Lets hope the PM thinks like you do.
