Edit: Called again and got a nice guy on the phone. For the first time (I've called five times or so since the release date) I was given some non-trivial info: they say that they expect a couple of shipments shortly before Xmas. That's better than "we don't know, after Xmas sucka!". I can wait a couple more weeks.

Unless you had a preorder, you wouldn't be able to get one from Gamestop anyways. Your best bet would be Wal-Mart, Target, Sam's, Costco, etc. Stay away from EB Games and Gamestop since they have to fill all their preorders first.

Well after giving it some good playtime, I have to say I'm fairly disappointed with the games I've played. PGR3 is probably my favorite, but I don't know, something about it just makes me not want to play it that terribly much. As of now, I like the first 2 a lot better. Sure looks good though. I popped Kameo in for a bit, but I just can't get into that game at all. It looks awesome, but again, I just don't feel like playing it. I played Madden for a while, but I'm not really all that much into football games (or sports games in general), and so I know I won't really play it much at all.

I have to agree, that out of the games I've played, Geometry Wars is much more fun. I'm gonna try to get PDZ and CoD2, maybe NFS:MW if I like the demo (anybody want to trade one or more of those for the games I have?).

I'll give it more time, but I'm kinda underwhelmed so far. I really wish they had Burnout backwards compatible as I really feel like playing that.

I agree! That game I have spent a lot of time on! what is your high score in it? I'm at 359,040 and I am going to try for 500K this weekend. It's just so addicting.

Kameo is a great game I just got into it. Great graphics. I agree about pgr3 ... its a good game, but I just don't see myself running to play it. COD2 on the other hand is great. It's great single player and Multiplayer.

I am still waiting for NFS:MW to come from every10minutes. The demo I really enjoyed. The game I think will be fun. I think the gameplay is more fun on NFS:MW than on PGR3.

Oh yea, and PDZ was the biggest letdown of them all. I have no urge to play that game. If anyone has King Kong and wants to trade for PDZ lemme know.

After less then 24 hours at the repair facility, I got confirmation that it is on it's way back to me.

However, the tracking number they gave me does not register w/ DHL yet.

I managed to get 106,xxx just a bit ago. It'll take me a while to get good enough to get as good as it looks like you are. Really fun and addicting though. I was going to come back and check something online and told myself after I lost that time. I ended up playing another 20 or so rounds before I actually got back here.

Yeah, PGR3 just lacks a certain fun factor that I felt the first two had. I dig the in car view. Its the only game I've played that had a good in car view (first one of those in a long time) that I actually enjoyed racing from that view (most games it feels like its compromising something). Whenever I read that they took out all the lower end cars I though cool and that it'd be good, but I think thats part of whats missing. I enjoy driving the slower cars in games (well, could do without the VW Beetle and Mini maybe, but cars like the 350z. RX-7, and stuff like that). I dunno, there's just something missing that it felt like the other PGRs had.

I'm going to try to give Kameo another try and get into it, as it does seem pretty good, and I really would like to see the parts where you have to go through the field full of trolls.

I wish I would've known there were free demos for both Madden and Kameo on Live before I'd opened them.

I'm wanting to play PDZ the most. It sounds like it'd be the best 4 player game. CoD2 would be next after that, as it sounds great too.

I downloaded the demo for NFS:MW and I don't think I'll get it after all. Its decent, but just not as good as I was hoping it'd be (I don't like the control, it feels like a sloppy version of NFS HP2 which has been my favorite NFS game). I feel much more like playing a Burnout style arcadey racing game (too bad the X360 version is over 3 months away).

I like Ridge Racer games, but I doubt I'll get the RR6. It looks like its more like RR5, which was alright, but RR4 was a much better game.

King Kong is, like the movie, a game I'm unsure about. It sounds like it'd be pretty good, but I don't know, I'm just not that interested.

I might try Condemned, it sounds fairly interesting. Oh well, guess I'll have to go back and play through Halo and Halo2 and some other Xbox games while I wait for more to come out. Maybe in the meantime they'll get support for the Burnout series and some others. Might have to actually play GTA.

Oh, and I started off playing on my 30" HDTV and then switched to my projector (Infocus 4805, so not fully able to show the full hi-def), and then switched back. Looks great on both, but I think the quality difference is actually kinda noticable. I'll need to do more of a direct comparison though, as I was playing on the projector some earlier, and well, it was less than dark in the room, so I don't doubt that had a little something to do with it. Will be great for playing 4 player splitscreen though.

King Kong and Condemned I will get when I can find them for $20 - $30 used. I just can't invest $60 in a game that has no replay value to me in the multiplayer. But they are definitely games I want to play through. Condemned is a freaky game thats for sure. I played both King Kong and Condemned for about 30 mins a piece and came to that conclusion. King Kong is cool how there is no HUD at all and there is no "FPS Hand" on the screen unless you press the L button to bring up the gun. Otherwise it looks like you are watching a movie.

And in Kameo, the battles with the Ogres are very close to the beginning. You constantly have to go back and forth between them as well which is pretty cool. I was shocked at the amounts of characters on screen and the framerate. Crazy steady!

Oh and if you are talkin about NFS:HP2 on the PS2, then I definitely agree with you! Best NFS game ever. The one on xbox sucked balls, it was a completely different game.

Hmm, might have to try them out. Suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea to startup a Gamefly or game rental service like that (does Netflix do games?) and try them out.

My problem with King Kong isn't that I don't like the premise, its just I'm not really that interested in the subject (which is why, although the movie looks fairly cool, I don't feel compelled to go and see it).

Yeah I was talking about the PS2 version. I had rented the Xbox version and a friend and I actually found it to be enjoyable for the most part, but there's definitely a huge difference between it and the PS2 one (which was quite awesome and does make the other one suck in comparison).

I can't wait for some hack n slash, beat-em up, and smashTV/contra/shooter style of games come out for the 360. Having hundreds of enemies onscreen at once will be awesome. Too bad there really hasn't been a really great one of those in a long time. When playing with friends it seems like the mindless fun stuff is the most fun anymore.

According to eBay president and CEO Meg Whitman, a staggering 40,000 Xbox 360 consoles have been sold on eBay.

As reported by Dow Jones last night based upon a presentation at the CSFB Annual Technology Conference, the 40,000 unit figure has left pundits flabbergasted. If launch supply estimates from American Technology Research are accurate, that would mean that 10% of all Xbox 360 consoles sold in the US were either sold or resold through eBay.

Exactly what's to be done about the reselling and marking up (or as some rumors would have it, the direct sale of units from some unscrupulous retailers and/or distributors) is completely unknown. Microsoft certainly can't take action against resales and tracking diverted goods from legitimate channels is difficult at best.

It's probably fair to say that eBay will continue to be a channel that's exploited by people at every hardware launch. About the only solution is to provide so much stock at launch that the opportunities for markup are fairly slim (and we all know that's never going to happen).

Keep an eye out on frys. They had both king kong and condemned last week for $39. Price match and so forth, brand new for 35ish is a great deal for brand new 360 games

They are sending out shipments but that doesn't necessarily mean that stores are sending them out to their stores yet. I read somewhere else that Best Buy was going to do another 360 sale around the 12th and that would likely be it until the New Year.

The guy I talked to at best buy said they have some kind of agreement with MS to get huge quantities of the 360. Mine shipped out and arrived at launch day.
