Well, I finally got Perfect Dark and I have to say I'm liking it quite a bit. The single player is decent, nothing too special. Played some co-op with my roomate last night and it was pretty fun. We had to play through the rooftop level about a million times cause one of us would screw something up and at the end we couldn't figure out what we were supposed to be doing.
We also played multiplayer against bots and it was pretty fun. The AI is a little sketchy though. Sometimes the bots would put up a fight and then other times they'd be just plaing cannon fodder.
Playing online has been really fun. I was surprised at how good of matches I've had. Good players (so far none of the high pitched profanity screaming little kids or other people who are annoying).
I'm pretty amazed at the size of some of the stages. Something tells me they might be working to get more people in each match, as the stages are almost too big for just 16 people sometimes.
I've only had two problems so far. It locked up on us playing co-op once. So far its been the only game to do so, and I checked and it wasn't especially hot or anything (my 360 runs quite cool I think). I think its just evidence that the game wasn't fully tested and bug free. The other is that there aren't more options in multiplayer. I miss having a ton of stages to choose from (would really loved to play on some of the original Perfect Dark stages). I also miss being able to customize your character more (choose body and then head, and there were quite a bit of choices).
Its not perfect, but its pretty good. I like it quite a bit at least.
I've actually been considering selling it though. I like the games (have started to like PGR3 quite a bit more, and played further in Kameo, and I even started to like Madden after I beat the crap out of one of my friends and then we had some close games, and then getting Perfect Dark has been nice), but in a way I feel like I could wait (been really feeling like playing Burnout which I can't right now), and the profit to be made is enticing. I mean with a Premium system, with 4 controllers, and 4 decent/good/popular games, 1 year Live, it'd be easy to get what $1200 or more out of it, especially since mine has been trouble free. Its a tough choice, since I don't really want to hassle with eBay, and I need a DVD player, and the fact that we can play some Xbox (Halo 1 with Warthogs is always popular) games as well (and I'm sure more games will be added to the BC list). Sorry if that sounded like a sales pitch, I'm just trying to think things out. There's a long Christmas vacation coming up, and I don't have school or work to deal with so, I'd probably play it a lot. Hmm...
