Yah I got it last night. It's the same exact demo we could play at Zero Hour, which is a good thing .

Also the rumor about it playing backups is false. I ripped the contents of the disc from my xbox1 to my PC, burnt it to a DVDR, threw it in my 360, and of course, it didnt load as the rumor had said it did.

I figured it wouldn't load either, but hey it was worth a shot.

I guess they can't get those damn units in the U.S to restock them.

A co-worker that preorder his Xbox 360 couple months before its realease, finally had his order cancelled by the reseller and his money refunded.

Company said that they just can't seem to get their hands on them.

Actually MacMall... i just asked him.
They told him, they would get a shipment tomorrow, but i guess that is not happening.

He said "oh well, i'll wait for the PS3 then"

Your friend gives up easily and is willing wait another year for a PS3 when he can get a 360 in the next couple of days?

Some people baffle me.

He didn't give up, MacMall cancelled the order for him without telling him. He called them back and they told him, they cancelled all orders because they can't get shipments.

Well, did he think about trying other stores then? I've put up links in three different forums about how many units Best Buy will have for each store on the 18th. Plus Sam's is getting at least 20 per store on the 15th.

There are other places to get a 360 other than MacMall.

I know this isn't the FS/FT forum, but it's the official 360 forum in OT.

So if anyone wants to trade their King Kong or Condemned for my Perfect Dark Zero drop me a PM.

does anyone have any more info on this? so I should get there at opening on the 15th to get one? my store opens at 7:30 for business members and 10:00 for everyone else, I'm wondering if all the business members will snag them up.

Unfortunately most online stores are only selling the bundles at high prices. He had Paid $500 for his premium system... he won't higher.

Probably. I went to my local Sam's during launch and Business Members were lined up. The first one got there at 9PM the night before. The next didn't arrive until 2AM. I got there about 3:30AM. The line filled out by 6:30AM.

Not everyone knows about the 360 hitting this time though so who knows.

Yeah, we're signed up with Blockbuster. We get two free in-store rentals a month. I'm going to be using those on 360 games when I can. I picked up COD2 last week and that was about all they had in stock. Every other game was gone except for Tony Hawk.

300,000 360s to ship out this week
American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy expects that 300,000 more Xbox 360 units will ship this week in North America.

The additional 300,000 units will bring the worldwide total to around 1 million shipped, which includes 300,000 for Europe, 100,000 for Japan, and the initial North American shipment of 300,000 to 400,000. Microsoft has repeatedly expressed that their goal is to ship 3 million Xbox 360s worldwide in its first 90 days on the market. McNealy said that he expects the console to sell just over 1.5 million units by the end of December, which puts Microsoft on track with their goal.

where did you find the mag? I have tried every Gamestop/EB and Walmart in the area but nobody has that issue. They all have the King Kong cover of the original OXM not the OXM for the 360.

I love my 360, but wow the Japanese already don't want it. It's been out what? Like 3 days? This is crazy.

XBox 360 Drops Price
Seriously. According to Kotaku, Japanese retailers are stuck with unsold XBox 360s. They cannot return them to Microsoft due to contractual obligations. No one wants to buy them. Faced with the prospect of unwanted merchandise, stores have decided to sell the consoles at a deep discount. The game machines, which normally retail for 38,000 yen ($350 US), are now selling for 18,800 yen ($150 US). Also included is an Internet Service Provider contract, whatever that entails.

The XBox 360 launched in Japan on December 10th.

Is that the actual name of the mag? It will be worth it rather than wait an hour or so for the download. My 1.5 mbps dsl sucks.

Just used one last night. (For a PS2 game, though... None of the local Blockbusters have 360 games in stock yet. )

The $150 offer was on the first day of launch. Not something they are doing to get rid of 360's. And it was $312 US not $350 the first day.

I wish people would stop quoting Kotaku; spend 5 mins at the site and you will see he has some issues w/ MS and constantly cracks on the 360.

The XBox 360 launched in Japan on December 10th.

This isn't a price drop. This is a deal with a Broadband service provider in Japan in exchange for like a two-year contract.

A picture's worth a thousand words - unless that picture is misleading! This photo has been passed around quite a bit with the tagline that the Xbox 360 prices were slashed in Japan because of slow sales. Indeed, if you look at the photo, it appears that the sticker price of the console has been cut from 38,800 yen (about $350) to 18,800 yen (about $150). Wow!
But...that's not entirely the full story. We contacted our correspondents in Japan to check out the deal, and they report that, according to a phone conversation with retailer Sofmap, the photo depicts a deal the retailer has been promoting with an internet services provider called @TCOM since launch day. The promotion, moreover, is offered only to the first twenty people per store who sign up - and they have to subscribe to the internet service to get the discount. I'm sure you've seen similar deals wrangled by companies like AOL.

Our correspondents note that there is a similar deal going on with Tepco which gives the customer a 10,000 yen discount on anything sold on the store upon signing up for Tepco's internet service.

Finally, our correspondents report, "We asked them specifically if this deal had anything to do with 360s being sold for cheap because everyone has tons of stock, and they said no, that's not the case at all."

Similar deals are also in place for other consoles like the PSP, so this is simply another example of Japan's hardware bundling practices. So, although the 360 isn't selling as quickly as it did in North America (about 28% of the units shipped have been sold so far, according to a Bloomberg report), the photo doesn't indicate that prices were slashed after launch day as some sort of desperate measure - it means that Japan has bundled offers that are just as annoying as the ones we have in North America. Will these bundles move console units? Hm.

Tokyo-based pals Hiroko Minamoto and John Ricciardi chased down the information contained in this report.

AMEX did a similar deal here in America where cardholders could order a 360 for $150.
