Anyone having any problems using their Xbox360 to connect to Windows Media Connect? I've got WMC running on my PC and it sees the Xbox, but when I try to find a PC running WMC with the xbox, it always says "no pc found". It's frustrating. I've searched the xbox official forums, tried what they said, to no avail. 360 is hardwired in and PC is wireless.
Probably a problem with your home network. I'm having similar issue with my PC, laptop, and 360. They are all on the network and can ping each other but none of them will share files.
Xbox 360 Windows Media Center Setup Guide from TeamXbox.com

Does that help at all?

turn off all firewalls... the signal is being blocked... need to figure out what port it is and open it up. but turning off all firewalls or leaving on windows firewall and pressign the reset windows firewall button in connect will allow the connection

Ive turned off all firewalls before, no dice.

then you got something else runnign thats blockign the port thats all there is to it bro..
only other thing Ive personally seen was a corrupt windows install that would not let the info to the xbox pass out so it cant see media connect...
that personalyl happened to one of my machines.. a quick format and reinstall worked fine.

It's possible that something's blocking it I guess, but if it's blocking it on mine... it's blocking it on a ton of other people's computers as well. Many people over on the xbox.com forums seem to have issues with linksys routers in general, similar if not identical to the same problem I'm having. I'm going to try directly connecting my PC and 360 via a hardwired switch tonight to see if the problem is the PC or the router. I just dont understand why the PC would SEE the 360 in XMC's list if it was blocking something. Is there any way I can watch the traffic more closely that's attempting to connect to the PC?

On a lot of their wireless routers, Linksys has a little feature. Forget what they call it, but what it effectively does is not permit the wireless and wired computers to talk to each other without interruption. Internal firewall, essentially. Look for that under Advanced and see if you can clear things up.

my PC did the same thing.. i could see and allow the Xbox on media conenct but it would not share till i killed all my antivirus/firewalls then it worked and i turned back on windows firewall and used the button on media connect to open the port..
works great now...

works at girlfriends house too with another newer linksys router as well..
WRT54G i think is the model we both have...
works great... issue was all on windows side..

<sigh> The EB Games I'm trying to buy mine from has it in stock but they owe me a $50 gift card and they can't do anything about giving it to me until the manager shows up. Of course, he was supposed to be in the store at 1PM today and hasn't shown up yet (it is now 3PM) so I can't pick up a copy of DOA4 yet.

Yeah I would have just gone to the store, but this is a (now) late Xmas gift from my sister. She put in the order on their site a few weeks ago.
Why can't I have a sister or gf like that? I only get clothing, and most of the time it sucks!:disgust:

My GF also got me a preorder for Elders Scroll IV: Oblivion so that'll be coming in March (hopefully, unless they delay the game again).

I feel like a new 360 game. Never got into DOA2 though. I'm not much for the whole panty fest and boob jiggles (well, for a main point of a fighting game ha ha)

Anyone play DOA4 yet and how's the FIGHTING part of it and all that? How's it compare to say, Soul calibur or Tekken?

Wow that 4 million video of geometry wars is impressive.

I'm pretty consistently getting over 1 million right now so i'm happy with that atleast

Well, it depends on how you play it really. If you play it as a button masher then it is a button masher. If you learn the combos and moves of the different characters then it is much more fun.

Can it be beaten easy with just button mashing though? I hate that...
How do you like it? (if you own it)

who cares about the computer AI? I am sure there will be plenty of people on xbox live who can own you in it if you like button mashing.

doa4 is nothing more than a button masher. at zero hour, i won a tournament where i went up against a friend of mine who plays doa3 on the regular, and i havent even EVER really played doa games to begin with.

I ended up beating him because I knew how to mash the counters some way quicker than he could perform the moves. if you aren't into button mashers, dont get the game.

atleast just rent it first before you buy it, i'm trying to help you out man
