Wow. I wonder what the price point is going to be.
I was wondering that too. It's concievable if they make this reasonable (I'd say they really shouldn't price it at more than about $100 to stay competitive with Sony) I'll end up with both of the new HD standards as I'll probably purchase a PS3 for the low entry cost to Blueray.

I'm actually wondering what it is going to look like. How is it going to fit in with the 360 console? It will obviously take up one of the USB2.0 ports but what if you already have a wireless adaptor? There's only one USB port on the back so hopefully you can daisy chain instead of having USB cables wrapped around the front of the console.

I saw a few glitches but thats expected from a demo.
Yes, pretty impressive thus far.
Agreed. Now if I could only figure out the controls!

It took me a while. The control screen isn't up long enough for you to get a good view of it. I at least got all the basic punches and the haymaker down to the point where I was completely owning my opponent.

The game looks really sweet though. Hopefully the AI gets tougher about what it does when the CPU is losing a fight. I had to chase Roy Jones Jr. around the ring for three rounds after I creamed him in the first. That got very annoying.

Sweet

I would rather get my own stand alone one if I where to purchase one rather than getting an add-on for my 360 that ms will have control over how it operates....

Not I, I believe the add-on may be considerably cheaper than the stand alone players available this year and I'm certainly not worried about MS "controlling" the thing.

It would be neat if there was an option of plugging the HD-DVD drive into your PC as well.

I'm wondering if the add-on is nothing but a stop gap for a Xbox360 with a built-in HD-DVD drive later. They would kill current 360 sales if they had announced, "Xbox360s will come with HD-DVD drives in August."

Hmm, not sure. One thing that might be cool is sharing the HD-DVD through WME. What would be even better for all would be through WMC. Sharing the HD-DVD throughout the house would be nice. Only thing that still concerns me is where the format wars will go from here. I saw one HD player yesterday that will be able to play both formats but as far as who will be the ultimate winner remains to be seen.

Sweet - Street Fighter II to be downloadable on Live.

Microsoft's CES presentation also had revelations for current Xbox 360 owners. In an almost offhanded remark, Gates said that one of Capcom's most popular old-school arcade titles, Street Fighter 2, will be available via Xbox Live Marketplace later in the year. If poker is your game, it was also revealed that a new Texas-hold-'em-game will be available this year as well. Moore also mentioned that since the 360 went on sale on November 22, 2005, there have been over four million individual downloads from the service.

Hmmm. Somehow DirecTV is going to enter into the Xbox360 equation now. Link

Microsoft said it will also work together with DIRECTV to enable the transfer of digital content among Windows PCs, DIRECTV devices and the
Xbox 360 to allow customers to watch movies and programs they get on their TV and play them on a number of different devices.

I'm thinking something like a DirecTV CableCard for a Windows Media PC that you can stream to the 360.

More details on Street Fighter II on Live.

The popularity of initial Xbox Live Arcade releases like Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved and Smash TV means other companies are quickly following in line. Capcom's first release onto the online marketplace will be Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, feature everything you loved about the original offline but now with complete online multiplayer.

The competitive nature of players means Capcom doesn't appear to be skimping out on the features for Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting. You don't have to wait long to experience the magic, either; Capcom's vaguely said the game will become available early this year, which could be any week now.

Does anyone know hot to get rid of games you don't want anymore that show up on your gamercard? I have 4 Xbox Live Arcade games I deleted but they still show up on my gamercard with 0 gamerpoints next to them.

No, but I'd like to do the same thing.

No, but I'd like to do the same thing.

If I'm understanding the question correctly the only way to remove those games is to play different games because I believe the gamer card always shows your last 5 games played.

Microsoft chairman Bill Gates has confirmed that the Xbox 360 is to support the HD-DVD next-generation disc standard, with an add-on HD-DVD drive to be launched for the console by the end of 2006.

Speaking in his keynote address ahead of the CES show in Las Vegas, Gates finally cleared up months of rumours and speculation over the platform's possible support for Toshiba's HD-DVD standard - which is set to challenge Sony's forthcoming Blu-Ray standard in the marketplace.

Microsoft's recently promoted head of games, Peter Moore, was invited to the stage to confirm that the HD-DVD external peripheral will launch before the end of the year - but no details on pricing or how it will connect to the console were revealed.

Bill Gates had previously stated that HD-DVD could be supported by Xbox 360 at some point, leading to speculation that an updated version of the console itself, with a built-in HD-DVD drive, could be on the cards.

However, Microsoft said late last year that no such update was being planned - and now it seems that the firm has opted for an external drive instead, following to some degree in the footsteps of products like Sega's MegaCD and Nintendo's 64DD.

Little detail about the new drive has been revealed, but it remains likely that it will only be designed to play back HD-DVD movie content, and will not be used for videogames content, as Xbox Japan boss Yoshihiro Maruyama hinted last year. Releasing HD-DVD games would force users to buy the peripheral before they could play the titles.

Sony's PlayStation 3, which will launch later this year, is set to feature a Blu-Ray drive in all models - a move which some analysts believe has added significantly to the manufacturing costs of the device.

CES: HD-DVD add-on coming to Xbox 360 this year :Q
