Microsoft sits on the fence over next-generation DVD format support
In the wake of Microsoft's CES announcement of a peripheral HD-DVD drive for the Xbox 360, the company's gaming division boss Peter Moore has revealed that a Blu-Ray drive could also be on the cards for the system.
Speaking with Japanese website ITMedia at the huge electronics show in Las Vegas last week, Moore said that a Blu-Ray drive for the Xbox 360 could be released if the Blu-Ray standard, which is backed by Sony, wins the next-generation DVD format battle.
Microsoft currently supports Toshiba's rival HD-DVD specification over Sony's Blu-Ray, but the company uses standard DVDs for Xbox 360 games and will only support HD-DVD movies with the release of the new external drive later this year.

WHO is going to get an extrnal HD-DVD driver to watch HD-DVD? You'd think the guys that would want this would want a 'dedicated' machine to do it. If it comes out of the box with HD-DVD compatibility that would be great.
I wonder how much it will cost? How much will HD-DVD players cost?

HD-DVD players are starting out at $400+. If they made the add-on somewhere around $100-$200 there would probably be some 360 owners who would spend the extra money on the add-on.
Same here, it's going to completely depend on price, and media availability.Originally posted by: Queasy

DOA4 has like some of the WORST AI programming I have ever seen in a fighting game ...
It's just like the programmers were lazy as fvck. It's like their tagline is "lets just make it harder by giving the CPU a handicap and making them counter if the human player is going to get off 2 combos in a row."
I can practically predict exactly when I'm going to get countered by the CPU. it's also not fun that the fact I can do a 7 hit combo with a slow/strong guy and take off 20%, then the opponent thats a faster/weaker character does a 3 hit combo taking off 40%. THat's the handicap I'm talking about.
lazy programming on the part of Tecmo. SHoulda put more guys on the AI instead of the graphics. Graphics are incredible. Of course I wouldn't care about this horrible AI if I didn't have to beat the game w/everyone to unlock secret characters ... but i do.

Wow those look awesome. You can tell they aren't pre-rendered either cause you can make out the aliasing a little bit on them.

This next batch of games slated for March are going to be some of the best graphics we have seen on a console to date I believe.

Yeah, I think we are finally going to start seeing the graphical power of the 360 soon. A few of the launch games (and DOA4) look impressive but not quite as kickass as games like GoW and Fight Night are going to look.

GoW is definitely not coming out in March. We'll be lucky if we see it by the Summer.
