So has anyone beaten Call of Duty 2 on Veteran difficulty? I just finished D-Day mission last night and I must say, that entire mission was the hardest thing I have ever played in recent times. It took me a long time and a lot of patience to get through it.

I'm now like 2/3 the way through Hill 400 and have 1 more mission to finish after that to complete everything on Veteran.

Yea, was one of the first things I set out to do after getting my 360. Was great fun and a serious challenge. You are getting close though.

Yea I had started it on regular and got 1/2 the way through the game and thought it was too easy, so I started over on Veteran and now am to this point. I only have a couple hours a week to play it so i've been working on it for some time.

And yes it is definitely a serious challenge. Some parts are more fun because you have to play a lot more careful and it feels more "real" in a sense, but some parts are just so frustrating because it's just like the CPU is cheating lol.

I am hoping nothing left I have to finish is as tough as DDay was

Big publishers embrace Xbox Live Arcade, promise original titles
Larry Hryb, Xbox Live Director of Programming, interviewed Greg Canessa, the general manager of Xbox Live Arcade for his regular podcast. The two spent a good deal of time discussing Xbox Live Arcade, during which Canessa said:

"As the business has grown, we now are swamped--completely swamped--with folks that want in Arcade, large publishers and small publishers alike .... the Capcoms, Namcos, Midways, Konamis, EAs--those types of guys were like, 'Yeah, maybe one or two titles.' Now they're coming out with us saying, 'oh, we wanna do 25 titles. We wanna do 20 titles. We're starting up a division to do arcade titles.' So we have a huge amount of opportunities from the large publishers. Not just back-catalog stuff... The retro stuff is part of it, but it's also new content they wanna develop for arcade..."

you pay for that stuff on xbox live arcade?

Yes you pay for full games. the demos are free.

XBox Live Arcade is fvcking awesome. Geometry Wars is probably my 2nd most played game, possibly my most played game, and I paid $5 for it.

And I also have COD2, NFS:MW, PDZ, PGR3, Kameo, Condemned, and DOA4.

Geometry Wars is just that fuN

The demo is so fun, what does the full game add?

There is no time limit and you can unlock achievements, as well as see the leaderboards and get your scores on there.

There may be an enemy or two that is on the real game thats not on the demo too, because I know I never saw the blue guys on the demo, but th en again, I couldn't last that long when I had the demo.

Hrrm, I'm so hooked on the demo I just might have to buy that full version. Thanks for the info!

Full Auto Demo today....at some point! Woooohoooo

In a surprising bout of sincerity, Peter Moore admits that there's nothing Microsoft can do to touch the PlayStation 3 at launch.

Bill Gates caused a stir last year when he said that Microsoft was prepping Halo 3 to launch alongside the PlayStation 3, to give gamers pause before siding with Sony. But in a recent interview, Microsoft's Peter Moore admitted to tech site Engadget that whatever his company tries to do, Sony is going to have a sell-out on its hands:

"They'll launch and it'll be very successful. There's no doubt, regardless of whether I throw a title in there or an update of Live or whatever, that it's not going to affect their launch."

That doesn't make me any less happy with my 360! For me, anyway, PS3 is going to hurt on three key points.

1. Nothing to touch Live with. (Still unannounced multiplayer functionality)
2. Price.
3. No Halo

Oh it's been announced ... there isn't going to be any type of LIVE-type interface for PS3. It's going to be just as PS2 is. they've aleady stated it.

Link? Without proof I have my doubts Sony would be capable of pulling that off well.

Harrison on PS3 Online

As we suspected months ago in our interview with Epic?s Mark Rein, it looks like Sony will in fact go with an open architecture for its online model. What does that mean, exactly? Basically, the way that the PlayStation 2?s online model operates will be applied to the PlayStation 3. While Harrison admitted that the Xbox Live online gaming service is one of the things that Microsoft has done well, he said that Sony?s plan is to let publishers establish their own means for getting consumers online and to let the publishers interact with consumers directly instead of using Sony as some kind of buffer for the online experience.

Unfortunately, by going with this model, Sony runs the risk of repeating its mistakes. The PS2 online model has proven to work with some sports games, a few shooters like SOCOM, and Final Fantasy XI, but outside of those, very few PS2 games have found success online. If Sony does a better job of promoting the online experience with the PlayStation 3 and at least attempts to have some sort of unifying structure, then this may not be the case. As it stands, Sony must have a decent plan in place if it hopes to make this model a success.

Yea, thought I had read that somewhere. Probably will be pretty weak once again if that is the case.

Nintendo on the other hand, supposedly offering all of their titles for download on the revolution is pretty serious stuff there.

To be fair, so far Microsoft has promised, and deliverd a service thats cheap and caters very well to gamers. On the other hand, Sony has delivered nothing, but continues to talk alot. Remember PS2 online?

Soon, we all hope. Best thing you can do right now is keep calling around. Just by chance I walked into Toys R' Us in the city and they just got about 50 of them. Realistically, though, seems like March we will start to see them on store shelves.

I would say not till spring. I may be wrong but from everything I'm reading there is still a serious supply/demand lag. The sooner the better though.

Use the online inventory trackers to score youself a 360. I started using it 2 days ago, was notified today via SMS text message as soon as they became available. I hopped on over to Best Buy during my lunch (about an hour after I was notified) and bingo, there they were. I now have a premium sitting in my trunk ready for some loving today after work.

March? Is anyone doing pre-sale? I haven't heard anything close to the buzz we've heard about pre-sales with the Xbox 360. You're basically saying that in less than 2 months the PS3 will be available. Even though they haven't had a working demo unit to anyone?

That being said, if anyone in NJ needs a 360, PM me. I have acess to a few, both premium and core, I'll sell to you at no additional cost just because I'm cool like that. Afraid to say in FS/FT for fear of ban, but I'm just trying to help out.

I figure I'd ask in here sine its a 360 remote ...

I'm looking to trade my last zero hour faceplate (brand new never been taken out of the bubble wrap) for an XBox 360 Harmony remote control.

Only 3000 of these faceplates were made and will never be made again.

Pic if anyone interested.

PM me if you are interested in a trade, and I only have 1 left even though the picture shows 2.

yah that one is a little too $$ for me

I honestly don't know the difference between the XBox 360 version and the 659. I just like the looks of the 360 one better. the 659 is more (retail $) and i can't tell whats on it thats not on the 360 one.
