man i originally only bought PGR3 and love it..
but i got gamefly and rented almost all the other launch titles.. and man they were quite fun..
so far ive played..
Tony Hawk (really fun especially on live)
NFSMW (better than PC version and live rocks)
Kameo (amazing single player)
CoD2 (great but soo fustrating and live is a mess)
Gun (fun but not a buyer at all)
PDZ (live is more fun than the single player but an Ok game)
PGR3 (flat out one of the best car games ever)
havent even used live arcade dont even have the time with all the games coming in from gamefly.
next is Full Auto and Fight night for my queue..
up to 2000 gamer points from all these.. would be much higher but CoD2 on vet sucks =-(

that is just f-in sick ... SICK I SAY!
I download the demo this morning, but I haven't played it yet. I gotta see if I will get ill from playing it. I recall someone in the thread saying it was pretty good, but what sort of reviews is it getting?

The gist is that the gameplay is very shallow... Race and blow stuff up, and the gameplay never varies from that.Originally posted by: purbeast0
Demo is much different than the final version from what I hear. But the gameplay mechanics are pretty much the same I believe. It's getting a lot of horrible reviews, but a couple of friends of mine who've played it think some reviewers are just buying into the crappy bandwagon and giving it worse than it deserves because it's not as bad as everyone is saying. There just isn't much to the game though from what I Hear, but online is supposedly pretty damn fun.Originally posted by: Muadib

I'm guessing the single player would get boring fairly quickly, but if you played online with a few friends, it would be a blast.
Pre-demo, I was very excited for this game... But now I'm on the fence.

I'm finally getting my first significant amount of hands-on time with the XBOX360 by myself, and wanted to post my impressions. These impressions come from someone who previously owned the XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube all at the same time, and owned atleast 10 games with each. So I'm not biased, I'm all about good gaming, and the experience in doing so.
My brother finally was able to snag a core system from a local WalMart yesterday, and brought it up last night so we could hook it up. He already had a copy of NFS:MW that purchased some time ago to play a friend's house, and I rented a copy of PGR3. I also picked up a set of component cables to hook it up to the HD set of mine. We played a couple of hours last night into the wee hours, and he left the system here so I could mess around with it today (he's watching the Daytona 500, so he won't be using it half of the day). My random thoughts:
- PGR3 looks fantastic, and plays almost exactly like PGR2. However, you can taste the hint of the game being a launch title. It doesn't necessarily feel "rushed", only not fleshed out due to time constraints. PGR2 was a lot better in menus and overall setup, whereas PGR3's menus and interface take a step back. Sure, they look pretty, but it isn't nearly as functional as PGR2. As far as gameplay is concerned, it's good. Why isn't it great? Because it only makes me want PGR4, because I know they'll have more time with it. PGR3 is an a-typical good launch game. The one thing that really stands out to me in this game is the tracks. They are painstakingly modeled in 3D, and just look completely fantastic. No other racing game to date can boast such varied and heavily populated track-side views. Racing in Las Vegas proves to be really hard, because I was too busy spotting stuff on the strip!
- NFS:MW is exactly what you'd expect. A decent arcade racer that will be absolutely no different if you've played it on anything else. The 1080i looks identical to my copy I've played on my PC. Not much to say here.
- The one thing I'm absolutely loving about the XBOX360 so far is the Live Arcade. Geometry Wars is so much fun, that I've spent more time with the demo than I have either of the racing games. The other demos are also of high quality, and I'm really impressed as what's available. The only thing that sucks is that in buying the core system, we only have a borrowed memory card, so I can only hold around 2 demos at a time.
- As far as the interface of the dashboard, I like it, but then again I don't. Some things take a ton of screens to get through (deleting a demo, for instance, takes me through 5 or 6 screens just to get the deed done, then I have to manually back out of each). However, the dashboard is very aesthetically pleasing, and I'd like to have my Live account so I can purchase some themes and such to check them out.
I'm really looking into getting myself a 360 now, good stuff here. I've learned one thing, though, is that a hard drive is a must if you're going to be on Live. My brother plans on picking one up sometime. I really wanted to try out the Fight Night demo, but couldn't.

Went to rent Full Auto this weekend but they were out so I rented King Kong instead (it was that or nothing). King Kong could be enjoyable if it weren't for a couple of huge annoyances:
1) Hunting for keys has been replaced with hunting for sticks of wood to use as a lever. This wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that you are looking for a piece of wood in a dark jungle.
2) Everything is dark in the human levels made worse by the fact that while you can light up a spear you are carrying, it doesn't actually light up the area around you. Everybody else can light up an area with whatever light source they have except you.
The game isn't bad overall but I end up feeling like I waste time in it because everything is too dark.

"I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't see it when we were developing the game," he told the BBC News website.
"We have a problem on the 360," said Mr Guillemot. "The screen is dark on some TVs and it totally changes the experience. When it's dark, you don't see where you have to go."
The Ubisoft boss said the team who made the game used certain settings on high-definition TV screens.
It did not occur to them that there would be a problem with standard televisions, which are what most people use to play console games.
"We are looking to see if we can fix the code," said Mr Guillemot.
"It is the beginning of the high-definition TV era for us. It's a shame, but it happens with new machines. I don't think we will have it anymore."

Interesting. I finished the game last week, and didn't have the same problem on my HDTV... I mean, the game was (appropriately) dark in some places, but definitely not too dark.Originally posted by: Queasy
Nope, HDTV (with everything set to HDTV). I was actually thinking last night that if King Kong was this dark for HDTV owners than it must be ungodly dark for SDTV players.Originally posted by: Wingznut
