There are so many scammers saturating eBay's XBOX360 listings, it is really amazing.

That single fraudulent auction represents 100 less legitimate buyers who will bid on legitimate XBOX360 auctions.

Agreed. I definitely DO plan to buy an XBOX360, but I don't see the urgency. I had been hot to get one, but when I sat last night playing Burnout Revenge on my new 50" set, I thought "why the hell would I rush to get something new?"

Oh my gosh, this guy is scamming so many naive people it's not even funny. How can people be this dumb to actually bid and pay for brand new console that is $100 under MSRP in high demand?

Launch day sell outs are much more desirable than flooding the shelves with systems.

they don't have to try. they simply have to build as many as they can with a reasonable number of factories. reasonable as in not wasting money on stupid overcapacity for a one massive sale day which after you have to close down your wasted production capacity

My friend said he saw a link to that same auction in an earlier thread and bought one. I'm going to save that page for him in case this guy does turn out to be a scammer. Apparently the home phone number on his paypal account and that ICQ page match.

I got mine. Everybody else that got one is busy playing with it Mine's on layway for a couple weeks, unfortunately. At my local Walmart, they had 44 (22 core, 22 premium) and I was #12 in line for a premium system. I'd been there since 10:15am. There was one kid that looked like Harry Potter that was there from 0830am. It got a bit worriesome in the final hours because these thug-looking guys came by and hung out towards the far end of the line and everybody was thinking thye were going to try and cut when they passed out the tickets, or try and jump somebody for a ticket. Nobody even got mad though, when they ran out. But the CSM had counted us twice and was pretty sure about who was who and what # in line.
