The impacts and uppercuts are half of the punches though. You make it sound like impacts and punches aren't that important and only account for 20% of what you can do.Originally posted by: LanceM

Burnout Revenge is just about everything you expected from a next-generation SKU of this famed franchise. The gameplay is as solid as its predecessors, the online support is some of the best out there, and the graphics and audio rival most other Xbox 360 titles. The bottom line here is if you love the Burnout series, it?s hard to imagine you liking this game, super-mega HDTV and surround system or not.
I?m sure Criterion will admit that it is hard to continually reinvent the wheel. Lucky for them, they can skip the whole reinvention process and stick to smashing the wheel into a completely different shape. Burnout Revenge

It seems like I can't actually hurt people with anything but the bazooka or flame thrower. One time, I spent what felt like a full minute shooting someone at distance with a hunting rifle (and the reticle was spot on), and had absolutely no effect. Also, my defensive options seem a little... limited. Are there any "automated turrets" or similar defensive mechanisms I can set up to at least give me a little time to react to enemy attacks on points of interest?
I'm guessing the demo would have been better received if they had put out instructions for it. I can't just magically know all my options in a game like that...

Is there a way to buy troops? I must not have noticed it. I only played it for half an hour or so before my wife and I ran off to a class. I noticed that I have some men with me, who seem at least reasonably competent, but buying more would be very, very nice, especially if they can man static defenses I buy. I could see buying it for $15-$20 used. I think it has some potential, but the learning curve is steep, and the initial presentation is not very appealing. WHERE'S THE TUTORIAL MODE?! Could be that it's in the single-player campaign, but it should have been stashed in the demo somewhere, too. I doubt that's even possible. The AI plays a rather major support role, from what I've seen. Without it, it's just lame WWII team deathmatch, with some heavy weapons interspersed.Originally posted by: purbeast0

The gameplay is pretty damn fun. When I played it a Zero Hour it was single player only and I quickly got off of it. But the multi is fun,.
However the graphics and framerate need a MAJOR overhaul. I also was hoping you could play w/ONLY human people and no AI, but i'm not sure if thats going to happen.
