the press is loving the builds they got to play with..

the screenshots all over the web look amazing on it.. as do the highdef movies posted..

The gameplay is pretty damn fun. When I played it a Zero Hour it was single player only and I quickly got off of it. But the multi is fun,.

However the graphics and framerate need a MAJOR overhaul. I also was hoping you could play w/ONLY human people and no AI, but i'm not sure if thats going to happen.
I doubt that's even possible. The AI plays a rather major support role, from what I've seen. Without it, it's just lame WWII team deathmatch, with some heavy weapons interspersed.

I personally thought the graphics were fine. What happened to "graphics don't matter, gameplay does?"

what kinda TV does Purbeast have?
hell im still on a regular 35 inch TV with componant input and 360 looks great even in non HD...

as for no bots aitn gonna happen.. they said they did it this way on purpose..
8 player max but each team can have an ARMY of NPCs... they say it keeps the lag down yet makes the game incredibly active...

they said even a 2 man war can be huge...

I think the graphics are just fine, as well. No, they aren't jaw-dropping, but I certainly wouldn't compare them to the PS2 either.

Overall, I really like the demo. Had a blast playing online last night.

I have a 50" DLP. The outfit just has a crappy framerate and graphics at this point, but I'm pretty sure thats from an early build. It doesn't look much bettr than someone we could see on xbox or ps2. I saw a lot of pop-up issues with buildings and walls that weren't even too far away. But again I'm pretty sure its just issues because the game is from an early build.

Regardless of the graphics and stuff, it's still pretty damn fun

Some games are receiving http://www.majornelson.com/2006/03/06/title-updates/
There are some title updates that were released earlier today. Here is the complete list:

King Kong
Xbox 360 Arcade: Smash TV
Toryumon
Xbox 360 Arcade: Hardwood Hearts
Madden NFL 06

To get the update, you?ll have to be connected to Xbox Live and start the title.

I do not have details on what each of these update contains, but I?ll see if I can get that get information from the individual publishers.

Im gonna give it a shot I have to wait for gamefly to get the full game though as i dont have a hard drive.

Anyone picked up either Burnout, College Hoops, or GRAW yet today? Just placed my preorder for GRAW at my local EB, who said they might get it in today, definitely tomorrow.

Microsoft has released a mandatory patch for Xbox 360 title Dead or Alive 4 that does not add any extra content to the game but instead merely fixes a number of bugs, in a move which seems to contradict the firm's earlier stance on Xbox Live patching.

According to Microsoft the patch, which is automatically downloaded when DOA4 players log on to Xbox Live, is designed to "prepare your Xbox 360 console for future system and title updates." However, no further details have been revealed, and Microsoft did not respond to requests for comment.

If the patch is indeed designed just to fix bugs and glitches, this could mark the first time that console gamers have had to download such a patch - and may also suggest that DOA4 was released before all bugs had been ironed out. Dead or Alive 4 was originally down to launch alongside Xbox 360 in Japan but did not appear until December 29th, with a European release following on January 27th.

There is also the issue of storing the patch data. For Xbox 360 owners who purchased the hard drive bundle, this won't be a problem - but those who bought the "core" system will need to save the patch to memory card and ensure it is inserted at all times when playing DOA4.

With Microsoft keeping quiet on the subject, the question of whether Xbox Live is now to be used as a means of patching bugged games - as well as offering extra game content and online play - remains unanswered.

Does new update represent a U-turn on patching policy for Microsoft? :Q

Well it seems that if you want Hexic HD after deleting it.. you have to call XBox Live support and ask for a code and thats based on your live subscription id. They end up calling back after a few days

I don't think the patching policy is a big deal, because the objections against it presuppose that previous console games were released bug-free, and this will suddenly enable them to be released with bugs. This is, of course, an absolutely false assertion. Developers have ALWAYS weighed release dates against the open bug list. Remember the umpteen million glitches and bugs in FF6 and Secret of Mana? Even the best games had them. Fact of life. At least you now get the option of fixing them after the fact. If you release a buggy game, you'll still get punished, because reviews tend to be in the first week - long before your patch comes out.

Additionally, the consequences of a serious bug are doubly higher with the integration of Live into practically every game. When there's a glitch that affects other people, it brings down the experience for everyone.

He's talking about renting it.

But then again, if you don't return the game within two weeks, they do charge your credit card for purchase... Not that it would help you with your gift card.
