Yep. Actually there is at least one cheapie aftermarket one as well, though I don't know why you'd buy it over the first-party one - if I were going aftermarket it would be to upgrade to a Harmony. The only reason I don't buy a Harmony is that my receiver uses an RF signal for its remote, so a Harmony won't work.

Do you need the remote to start and watch a DVD, like you did on XBox? I haven't tried doing that with my 360.

nope controller works fine.. and they are wireless now.. so no need for remote =p

Nope, you can use the controller to control the movies and what not.

just 1 of the MANY things the 360 does that was ripped from the mod/homebrew scene of xbox1

or do you mean you spent $60 over $400 ? (that would make sense actually heh)
I was wondering this as well.

BTW, the remote is no longer included with Premiums - I didn't get one with my Premium, which was built on Feb 12 and purchased on Mar 25.

Yeah, sorry... I should've said "$60 extra"... ~$460 total.

$300 Core
$100 HDD
$30 Component cables
$50 Wireless controller
$20 Headset
- $38 Sold wired controller on eBay
--------------
$462 Total

Whether or not you want to count the limited available remote is up for debate. I had no interest in it anyway, as I picked up the 360 Harmony remote.
I could've sold the SDTV cables, and saved a few more bucks... But I'm going to keep those so that I can move my 360 from living room to bedroom when the living room isn't available to me (when the wife and/or kids are watching TV there.) I can't seem to find a second power supply for any decent price, though.

If you end up finding an extra power supply, let me know. I'm interested in getting a second one for my 360 so I can do the same thing. Toting all that stuff around is a real pain. I would have preferred they made the 360 a little bit bigger to integrate that PSU.

This game actually looks pretty cool, but I have heard its short (like 6 hours short).

also that release date of April 7th is not right, it's coming out the 11th when BF2 comes out. I hope this demo doesn't make me not want the game like BF2 and Blazing Angels did (2 games I planned on buying).

The PC demo has been out for a few days now... It feels like the old TR, which is a very good thing.

yah thats what I hear, but the short gameplay won't make this worth a purchase, if the 6 hour thing is true.

Man, still loving Oblivion here. 360 games finally seem to be growing up! Between that, GRAW, and school, I haven't had a spare second this month!

Yeah, i am Oblivion's b!tch, and I don't even like RPG's. Anyway, this is the best looking game on the Xbox 360 so far. I really hope that games continue on this trend in the future.

Well, I finally broke 4 digits on my gamerscore, I've had this thing since launch day too.

Oblivion is an awesome game that I play far too much; I think I've put in close to 35 hours on it so far. Ever since I got that, GRAW hasn't seen the inside of my 360.

I really need to play my 360... especially with all the good games out now. I just picked up GRAW. Good bye social life.

Don't know, been stuck at 5% on the dl for awhile now.

I've been downloading for 3 hours now and it's only at about 70%...jeeeeze.

Yea, servers must be taking a beating or something.

The Tomb Raider demo is "pretty good". It reminds me a lot of PoP: Warrior Within - lots of obvious jumping sequences followed by some combat. The voice acting is excellent, and the puzzles are surprisingly physics-oriented. Graphics and sound are sort of blah - it's obvious the game started out on earlier platforms. That's not to say it's ugly, but We Have A Higher Standard (tm).

Xbox 360 Games Announced at Japanese Media Briefing

Microsoft Acquires Peter Molyneux's Lionhead Studios

Today, at the Tokyo International Forum in Yurakucho in Japan, Microsoft held an Xbox 360 Media Briefing where the company outlined its new strategy for the Japanese market. New Xbox 360 games were unveiled, some of them being exclusives.

Namco Bandai had a big presence at the event. The third largest game/toy maker in Japan announced that its long awaited Culdcept SAGA will launch exclusively on Xbox 360 and promised to release more info about the game on April 14th. The publisher also showed for the first time in-game footage of Mobile Suit Gundam, revealing that the shooter will use a first-person perspective-- something that will make the game even more appealing in Western territories. Other game confirmed by the publisher were Zegapain XOR, based on the Zegapain anime TV series that started to air in Japan today.

Finally, Namco Bandai announced that Pac-Man and Galaga will be available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace later this year and will run in high-resolution.

Speaking of Xbox Live Marketplace, SNK, Konami and Yukes also announced that they will provide content for Xbox Live Arcade.

Square-Enix, expected to unveil a new RPG for the console, surprised the crowd by announcing an arcade-style shooter designed exclusively for the Xbox 360 by Game Arts. "Project Sylph" is the working title for the game and the publisher promises to reveal more details at next month's E3.

Although Square-Enix didn't announce a role-playing game, Microsoft announced that Tri-Ace is developing an exclusive RPG for the Xbox 360 that will be published by the software giant. No further details were provided but we expect a great RPG from the makers of Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean.

Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey Update

During the event, Mistwalker president Hironobu Sakaguchi took the stage to offer an update on the much anticipated role-playing games, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

Mistwalker and Microsoft Game Studios are on track to release Blue Dragon at the end of this year. Regarding Lost Odyssey, the game is scheduled for release in 2007 but to calm gamers' appetite, Microsoft and Mistwalker will release a twenty minute demo this summer.

Pac-Man FTW

I'm actually enjoying the Tomb Raider demo a lot. I had it freeze on me the first 5 times I tried to run it, then I cleared my cache and it was fine.

Aside from some of the graphical issues, I really liked the game a lot. It feels a lot like old tomb raider games. erwos, if you think it plays like a PoP game, you need to go back further and play games that PoP ripped off of .

This tomb raider feels a lot like the first and second one, not like the ones after that which completely took the series in a different direction. The puzzles were pretty damn fun in the demo.

If I hear this game is more than 6 hours long I may pick it up. I'm definitely not getting BF2 on launch so I may pick up tomb raider instead.

This is what I get for letting other people pack up around my house. I can't find the Linksys Wireless Router that I turned into a bridge and so now I can't get on to Live. I hate how the 360 reverts all your Arcade games back to trial versions when you're not connected to Live...

I haven't had an opportunity to play it yet for some reason it took a good 4-5 hours for me to download it yesterday, I'm really not sure why. Anyhow if it does have the look and feel from the first 2 I will almost certainly buy it. The originals kept me hooked for a long time.

That's weird ... when my net was down for like a week back in December, I could still play Geometry Wars full when I wasn't connected to live.

Pac-Man in HD? My wife will be stealing my 360, I think. She never gets enough of that game.

My thoughts:
1. SNK putting stuff on Live Arcade could be a huge deal - they've got some properties like Metal Slug and Samurai Shodown that would very much appeal to hard-core gamers. The same goes for Konami.
2. It's somewhat disappointing that Square Enix isn't releasing an RPG - but then again, if they have a good experience, it could lead to better things.
3. More RPGs are much appreciated, so long as they eventually make it out of Japan.

Well the TR demo finally downloaded last night so I tried it out.
Like erwos, I find it a lot like PoP. Maybe it's because I haven't played a TR game for so long. But it was funny because I died at one point and hit the "L" button to reverse time, then I laughed at myself. I like the game a lot buuuuuuut.....It sleeps sloppy and the framerate just seems odd. It isnt like a bad framerate, but it isn't smooth. If it's smooth and runs great, I'll buy it.

I just started to play GRAW finally, and well, am I dumb or can you send just one teammate to move or do you have to send them all? Like I don't want all 3 to run that way, I'd like to send maybe 2, and keep a guy with me, or send one here, one there, and another that way. I'm going to beat graw by the weekend then start Oblivion
