I should be getting my 360 Thursday. Couldn't pass up a deal to get rid of our current console and get a 360. Woot

Anyone else looking forward to BF2 tomorrow??!?
I probably wont pick it up tomorrow, but I will this weekend or soon after.
I was going to get it until I played the demo ...
Same here. The demo was terrible, IMO.

They really need to speed up live downloads somehow. I don't get it. I know the demos are kinda "installed", if you will, but that shouldnt make demos hours and hours and hours to download. I'm not even at 50% of Amped 3 and it's been going for 2 hours. I downloaded the 100MB FF11 movie in a few mins. Why did that go so fast? I should have downloaded amp in under an hour for sure then. I'm tired of it! But it's free so I will put up with it

Sounds like a problem specific to your connection and this download. I haven't run into any problems so far with Live downloads, even TR on its release day. I haven't had any of them take more than 20 minutes or so.

So I re-installed the TR demo and it ran the same but I was able to look past a few moments I didn't enjoy framerate wise and I really like the game. I loved the puzzles and I miss games like that (POP:sands of time), so I might have to get it once I beat the games I haven't yet.
For anyone picking it up tomorrow, can you let me know if there's a brightness option? I like keeping my tv slightly lower in the brightness but I like my games brighter than TV. I love how most games have that option so each game can be set how I like and dont have to change the tv setting.

There is a brightness option on the demo, thus I'm sure there is one for the full game.

Anyone have any Marketplace points I can buy? Like a 200 point card from live you didn't use? I have 200 points from live, and want to finally buy Geometry Wars. I don't feel like spending $7 on the marketplace, since there won'te be enough points left over to get another arcade game, I'd rather just paypal someone a few bucks for their code. Anyone?

I've had my 360 for a few weeks now. In general I love it, but I have a significant quibble: I really don't like the way it handles music you rip to the hard drive. On the original XBox you could create custom soundtracks and use them whenever the game was playing its own soundtrack, but instead the 360 just allows you to play music over the existing sound, like a radio. This means it plays all the time, including during menus, award videos etc. This feels like a real step backwards, for no apparent reason.

I like how the 360 handles music much better. I was really annoyed with the original Xbox because if I was playing a round of golf or something, it would only take me around 2 minutes per hole which meant that I would only hear the first 2 minutes of the song. Then it would start into another song on the next hole. With the new system, it continues to play during loading so you get to hear whole songs.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. You can get a Linksys WRT54G router (v1-v4) for around $40-$50 on eBay and mod it into a bridge. Or you can get the 360 network adaptor new for $99 or on eBay for $70-$90.
Great as the Xbox 360 is, the capacity of its hard drive is verging on embarrassing. Although marked up as a 20GB, you only really get around 12GB of space to play around with ? unless you add the XSATA.
Made by Datel, it?s a plug ?n? play peripheral that sits betwixt your 360 and the hard drive. It links up to your PC via USB, which allows you to move content backwards and forwards using any Xbox-friendly file manager software. The crux is that anything you?re not currently using on your 360 can be moved on to your computer?s (undoubtedly larger) hard drive, freeing up space for other stuff. You can then email Xbox content to your mates, provided it isn?t locked to your Live account.
It will be available soon, priced at around £30

I don't think there are 200 point cards. I think the lowers it 500 points, which is $6.25. Trust me dude ... geometry wars is probably the most worth it game on the XBLA. It's probably my 3rd most played game (possibly 2nd). Burnout keeps tracks of hours, and I have like 44 hours logged into that game, and COD2 I've played a shltload as well. Geometry Wars I've played more than my other 9 REAL 360 games.
Oh yea ... and I think burnout revenge is the best 360 game right now. The game is so addicting online.

Also, the Xbox 360 wireless adapter can do 802.11a - if you're willing to spend the cash on a slightly better AP, you'll get much better connection quality.

April 12, 2006 - In a recent interview, Jacques Hennequet, Producer at Volition, Inc., said a "very large" demo of Saint's Row will be appearing on the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Saint's Row promises an action oriented experience similar to Grand Theft Auto, though with more detailed graphics and physics. Though Hennequet confirmed the demo's release, he declined a release date and specific content details.
Saint's Row has remained a popular over the past year, despite the fact that relatively little new information has leaked. We saw it last at GDC 06 in San Jose, and it seemed like the game still had some issues to iron out. The game features shiny, colorful graphics but the framerate so far hasn't been able to keep up.
In addition to the free-roaming single player content, gamers will get several online modes of combat. Successful online play will give you access to flashier clothing, making you readily identifiable as a skilled player to others online. Stay tuned for more as it develops.
