So, what's the deal with the PGR 3 speed pack? Do people think it's worth it?

-Erwos
not really... most of the cars are not even close to the top of the list performance wise.. all except the Z06 which is the new top dog of its class..

the twin turbo saleen S7 is ok just not really even close to top of class A
Yeah, it is still rare to race in Class A and see a car other than a F50 GT.
I like the speed pack, and the fact that they added a few almost "normal" cars. That's one thing I liked better about PGR2... They had a larger variety of cars (not just exotics).
Is the speedpack free, or does it cost something to purchase?
Costs 400 points for 11 cars. You can get the Aston Martin V8 Vantage for free.

The Auto-Update which fixes some bugs and adds some features is free.
Meh. I'll stick with the regular PGR3 then, I have a hard enough time driving the stock cars, muchless waste however much that is on 11 more.
It's a whopping $5 (1.25¢ per point.)

Not all of us work for Intel, buddy

Plus that's $5 wasted on something I'll probably never use or play really. That's beer money!

Sorry dude. I was scared on Friday because I was playing burnout and I couldn't get through 1 race event w/out my 360 locking up. So I played COD2 and it worked fine. I then went back to burnout, and same thing - it would freeze while plaing my first race online.

I then started talking to people in lobbies and online, and turns out that ever since the DLC for burnout became available last friday, it's causing people's systems to lockup while playing online.

I don't even know if Criterion or EA knows about this, but I hope it gets fixed. I have played offline for like 40 minutes and had no problem. My educated guess is that it has to do something with a conflict between people who dont have the DLC and those who do have it. I had it freeze on me before I downloaded the new cars AND after as well. Good luck to you

Go ahead and call MS Xbox Support. I've been there and done that and got a refurb 360 within a week. Sucks I know.

Sorry to hear that. On a bit of a side note I bought the Nyko Intercooler and have had it now for a few weeks. Anyhow, this thing is doing its job. It is a bit louder than the stock fans, but even when I use basic TV sound options it?s not an issue imo. Now this maybe just a placebo or something, but I really believe my games are running smoother, I can especially tell the difference in Oblivion. With issues of foil left on a chip in some of the early 360s, as well as other heating issues for some, for 20 bucks it's not a bad insurance plan imho.

How's that going btw? YOu bought a new house about a year ago right? Can't remember but we talked about it a while back. Sorry to hear about your 3 LOD.
My job is going very well, thanks.

And yes, we bought a new house nearly two years ago. It backs up to a small forest, so we have our share of critters (bugs, mice, etc.) Certainly nothing unmanagable, but my wife isn't too thrilled to say the least.

I just got a hold of MS... Even though I bought it on launch day without any extended warranty, they are still going to fix/replace it. They are sending me the shipping materials overnight, so I should be able to send it out tomorrow.

So, here's a positive about buying the Core. I will obviously not be sending my HDD, so when they send me a replacement console, I won't have lost any data.

Get a couple of cats. They'll clear that problem out in no time. Sure you'll have a bunch of dead mice on the back porch but at least they'll be dead and not burrowing into your house.

Same thing happened to me.

You wouldn't have had to send in your HDD anyways. If you have a premium, they ask you to take off the HDD before sendin it in (unless of course they diagnose the HDD as the problem).

Really? The game runs like hell outside for me (But I'm always on the horse so maybe that's doing it I figure). Can heating issues really cause a game to run worse?

Not sure, but I really believe it is running smoother. Don't worry I still get some hiccups, but overall it does seem to run better.

That's interesting. Maybe this weekend I'll make my own extra fans just to see if it helps, I am curious now

I have always theorized that there's dynamic clocking going on depending on the heat levels. It's really the only way to explain some of the weirdness between the consoles - the 360 has more variation from console to console than anything else I've ever been aware of.

You could be on to something. There are a lot of inconsistancies with end user comments.

When I get my 360 back, I'm sure I'll add the intercooler. The worst thing that can happen is that I'm out $20.
*shrugs* (Which, as RagingBITCH pointed out, is peanuts to someone like me. )

too bad the QA of the whole 360 (hardware and software) is absolute garbage. burnout revenge is unplayable online since last week and their auto-update and cars DLC from the marketplace.

That's odd - I haven't had any problem with it, and I downloaded all the cars and the auto-update.

heh lucky you. i cant play a race event w/out it crashing in the first race, and i can hardly ever get into a damn game cause of network problems. it's a joke. it's my favorite game and i can't even play it online.

crashing mid game made my rank drop from the 800's to 47000's lol.

gonna go give MS a call right now, hopefully i can get a box by friday.
Yes, that looks very familiar. :frown::brokenheart:

Yah i called em. They are going to send me a box. I am hoping to get it by friday but i highly doubt it. I hear now they are shipping UPS instead of DHL. that's probably because they have so much more volume to send out now that everyone's xbox 360 is failing.
