Yeah I'm a huge burn out fan so I'm excited. The reason I was going to wait was because to make sure I had the gaming funds for Oblivion, but I should be ok.
And boy if I can get that $20 1 year of xbox live gold PMed at somewhere dumb (Walmart? CCity?) I'm making the jump to live!

Well I got GRAW today and got through the 1st mission no problem. The second one has been a pain in the ass so far though, having to shoot down all those guys from the helicopter. How many tries did it take you guys to finish this part?

Make sure you zoom, took me a second to figure that one out, lol.

on GRAW: how the hell do I get to the first mission???

I have gone through training 3 times and when I go to select a mission all that is there is the Training mission.

I hit START while in the training mission and "Skip Training" is greyed out.


Arg WTF.

Xbox360 Premiums To Come With 100GB HDD Now?

According to this post on XBox.com, there is an internal Best Buy document that says that new Xbox360 Premium systems will include a 100GB HDD instead of the previous 20GB HDD. This is a huge step up if true, the only reason we can see MS doing this is if that Direct TV downloadable TV show rumor was also true. Rumor mill for now.

Some of the missions in GRAW are too long, especially since this isn't a game for health regen. I have to protect the American President out of the garage with 8 billion mexicans and an airplane attacking me when my health is already at critical. I can almost complete it. I can kill all the mexicans, but just as i'm about to reach the extraction zone, a helicopter comes out of nowhere and mows me down. Such BS.

Send your guys behind cover (eg, one of the front concrete barriers) as your first action of the engagement. Similarly, duck down under cover next to them. Pop up and mow down the rebels as they come at you. Don't bother telling your team-mates what to shoot, they'll do an OK job covering their own sector(s). The trick is to pop-up, aim, fire, and then go back down in a single movement. If you stay out of cover too long, someone will just pop a bullet in your head for your troubles.

I _think_ I was using an SCAR-H/AGL for this part, or some similar weapon with an AGL. You definitely need to target the APC(s?) as soon as you can - one or two AGL hits should do the trick. Near the end, an M1A1 will show up. You'll need to just hunker down until the Apache support shows up to blow the thing apart. AGLs can't hurt it, AFAIK.

This isn't fool-proof, but I did it in normal mode without losing anyone, so it must be a reasonable strategy.
