Graphics wise GRAW is superb, but the environments in Oblivion are spot on.

im on a regular TV and Im blown away... GRAW looks like a 3 year old game in comparison...
wait till you get outside... EVERYTHING moves... every single blade of grass and every leaf blows in the wind...
the game is flat out gorgeous..

Here is what the folks at Xboxic have found so far:

* Can actively host a game now.
* Lobbies fully implemented including game options and pre-game smack talk.
* Hoster can kick players.
* Private matches are allowed.
* You can select any map of choice.
* Score and time limits configurable.
* Post-game lobby after the game is over.
* Can invite players to game.
* You can see enemy names in-game.
* No noticeable lag continously disrupting games.

I gotta admit: that game looks pretty nice. Obviously, March is a good time to own/buy an Xbox 360.

However, these damn achievement points make it too hard for me to buy new games. "I've only got 1400 of a possible 6000 - shouldn't I just spend more time on what I've got?" I know this is a bad benchmark, because some games make it a little too easy to get all the achievements (hello, King Kong!), and I happened to pick four of the most difficult games to get them for, but it still bothers me. What with the holidays coming up, I'll probably just ask for it as a birthday present in May.

I only have perfect in a very select few games ... NFS:MW, Geometry Wars, and COD2, and I'm working on Burnout Revenge right now. The only fun thing to achievements IMO is because it sets goals for you on the games you enjoy. That's the way I look at it, instead of saying "i have to do this to get xxx amount of points for my gamerscore!"

Well, to me, it's kind of an "overall completion level" measurement. And, again, you guys are all correct that certain things (eg, "number one on the leader board") are poor measures of that. If I yanked off stuff that relied on relative skill (eg, get SS in DOA 4) and things that just can't be done ("perfect game" in Smash TV), that maximum would be a lot lower. I'm not really a gamerscore whore yet, but having a lowish score is indicative to me that I've not really explored all my games so much (including that whopping "10" in PD0).

Still, the point remains: I'm pretty busy with what I've got, and since Oblivion has no multiplayer, I can finish it at my leisure without worrying about the player base "moving on".

Oh it can be done

THere are so many achievements in Geometry Wars I thought could not be done, but low and behold I finally got them all. All but 1 person on my friends list has even broken 1 million points, but i've gotten the "survive 1 million points" achievement heh, so even though it seems impossible, it can be done!

Sorry, but I gotta disagree... Oblivion's graphics are very good, no matter what platform we are talking about.

And actually... What PC games are so much better that Oblivion (on the 360) is considered "so-so"? I can't think of any. (And no, unreleased games don't count. )

Half Life 2 at 1920x1080 w/ 8AA and 16AF looks better then anything put out on the 360.

HL2 came out what? 2 years ago?

Cool, I'm currently located where that screenshot was taken. I'm not fighting that thing though and I certainly don't have armor anywhere near as nice. I need to find some mithril.

Please, let's not start into this arguement! There really is no right or wrong answer. You could probably get close to a $400 PC to play Oblivion in 480i, but when we're talking higher resolutions, a high-end PC will cost a lot, but so will an HDTV to hook the 360 to.

Please, let's not start into this arguement! There really is no right or wrong answer. You could probably get close to a $400 PC to play Oblivion in 480i, but when we're talking higher resolutions, a high-end PC will cost a lot, but so will an HDTV to hook the 360 to.

That would be a good point if I couldn't hook my 360 up to a PC monitor, or a PC to my HDTV - but that's not the case. My point still stands: if you want to spend a couple grand on your uber gaming PC, it'll smoke a 360, no doubt about it - but for a lot of us, the $400 on the 360 is the better value.

I'm glad I got to play the Blazing Angels demo, because now I'm %100 positive I'm not going to be purchasing that piece of crap game.
