I do and when I check the disc it's all scratched - all circular scratches and they seem deep. After like 5 times it booted and played a little. Turned the system off and tried to play again just to see if it works and no it didn't. Going back to return this POS for a replacement game and system. What a great experience for going next-gen.

There are videos on the internet that show that if you move the 360 while its reading the disk it will damage the disk. I would post a link, but I am at work.

I didn't move it at all. Now I'm just wondeing if I should just go get a replacement for both or just the game and see if it happens again. The problem is there's only a 7-day period to get a replacement... so I don't want to have it happen again after day 7 and then have to go through MS instead if the box itself is faulty.

how about burning an music cd and slapping it in there to test? i would keep testing it with game discs.
On the other hand, I'd probably exchange it as long as you can. And make sure you buy the extended warranty from MS.

Oh man am I pissed off. I just called and the store manager told me I should've bought warranty for the game and system and he can't do anything about it. Deal with MS. WTF?

I think there will be a $10/month fee. You can have either a Gold or Silver account to play it.[/quote]

Ug that sucks. Pay for gold, then pay monthly for PSO also. Gold members should get it for like $5 a month. I would try it out then for sure. Now I will pass. The game should only be $29 then. $60 plus $10 monthly is really pushing it.

Dude that sucks. I remember people having that problem if their system was standing up. How is yours?

What store did you get it? Shouldn't you be allowed to exchange it within 7-14 days for same game? I would argue. Unless since they can say it was "User fault", but still...same game swap they should do. You can try to polish the disc using tooth-paste and see if it works again. Just clean it really well when done.

So how many of you guys have the Vision camera? I was thinking about picking one up. Its pretty funny sometimes while playing Uno. Are there any deals out there at the moment? I may just stop in at wal-mart and get it for the $40 price tag

You can get it at buy.com for $32.99 w/free shipping. There shipping is slow tho; I ordered mine last week and haven't received it yet. But it'll save you a few bucks.

**EDIT**
I just noticed that this thing is "On Order" now at buy.com. When I ordered it it said shipped in 2 days, now my order is on hold. I'm debating on whether I should cancel it or not. Still a good deal I guess if you don't mind waiting...

Sounds like the PSU beta has been delayed a couple of days to a more nebulous release time of "this weekend". It is still only going to last until the 18th though. Grrrrrrrr

Phantasy Star Universe Open Beta - Oct 11th to Oct 18th

SEGA is proud to announce the start of the Open Beta for Xbox 360 on October 11th!. This will be the first chance to play the newest addition to the long running Phantasy Star series. The Beta test period is expected to run until October 18th and will allow participants to play through a portion of the online game. We encourage users interested in the Multiplayer aspects of Phantasy Star Universe to check out all there is to see in the Beta environment!

Getting started is extremely easy! If you want to participate you must have an active Xbox Live Gold account. The Beta will be available for download on the Xbox Marketplace between October 11th and October 12th. Once you have the beta downloaded, you'll be able to play immediately! Once online, we highly recommend the following activities to get the most out of this Open Beta period:

[*]Create Your Character - Construct the perfect avatar with the robust Character Creation tool that enables players to change their character's body shape and dimensions, hairstyle and color, facial structure and features, and more!
[*]Meet New People - Head out to the lobby and meet new people! Visit various shops for weapons, clothing and other items and then join or create a squad to embark on missions with new friends.
[*]Explore the Universe - With three expansive planets to explore, discover the adventures that lie ahead on Parum, Neudaiz, and Moatoob.
[*]My Room - Create your personal online space by adding items and elements from your adventures, and decorating your My Room with various themes and wallpaper. In here, your Partner Machinery is able to create new weapons and items for you to use in battle, trade with friends, or sell for a profit. Players can also exchange Partner Cards and visit friends in their My Room!
[*]Customize Your Look - Head to one of the various Clothing or Parts shops located across the Universe and outfit your character with the newest styles.
[*]Try Different Job Types - Speak to the Guardian Representative located on the fifth floor of the Guardian's Colony to freely change between the three class types: Hunter, Ranger, and Force.
[*]Create and Sell Items - Craft items from the base materials you find during your adventures using your Partner Machinery. You can even sell these items within player-run Shops!

Live will be down Tuesday the 17th

We've got some scheduled maintenance coming up and want to let everyone know that both the Xbox Live® service and Xbox.com will be offline and unavailable starting at midnight Pacific Time on Tuesday October 17, 2006 for up to 24 hours. We know you've got some questions, so here are some answers:

Q: Why? Why? Why?

A: Because we're adding some cool stuff. And we have to take the service and website offline in order to do it. We're not doing it to make you mad ? really.

Q: What kind of cool stuff?

A: Secret cool stuff that we'll tell you about when we're back online October 18. Other stuff we'll be talking about later in the fall.

Q: Is this a Dashboard update?

A: Nope.

Q: So what's going to happen exactly? What's it going to look like for me?

A: For the first hour or two that Xbox.com and Xbox Live are down, you'll get error messages?when you hit Xbox.com you'll see a Server Not Available message, and if you try to connect to Xbox Live you'll get the "can't connect" message. Don't freak. It's not your account, your computer, your browser, or your ISP. It's us. After a couple hours you will see a "We're down for maintenance" page on Xbox.com and a similar message on your Xbox console.

Q: Twenty-four hours? That's a whole day!

A: Yes it is. It is also 86,400 seconds. Too bad the Xbox Operations Center isn't on Jupiter. A day there is a little less than 10 hours!

I agree it looks pretty insane. I hope that the AI was dumbed down just for the sake of demonstrating the different abilities.

Supposedly, this is footage from the E3 demo. Should be in much better shape by now. <crosses-fingers>

The Phantasy Star Universe beta download is up. Weighs in at around 950MB. I've downloaded it but haven't had an opportunity to try it out yet.

Tried PSU and I'm kind of "meh" on it right now. Did the tutorial and a couple of missions and I'm not thinking it is worth paying $8/month on.

Are you guys going to pick up Splinter Cell on PC or 360? I'm used to playing this type of game on PC so I'm leaning towards that direction

I've already pre-ordered it for 360. All the past games have not dissapointed so I'm hoping this one is the same. Also, the Splinter Cell Multiplayer demo is now available to download on 360.

** EDIT **
Just played the demo for an hour or so and the verdict is.....GREAT GAME. Multiplayer anyway. I was a little concerned about the spys not having a gun this time, but once you get the hang of it it's actually a lot better. It forces you to not try and go gung-ho on the mercs. I did break a few necks, but only when it was part of escaping or trying to complete an objective. I like the auto aim for breaking windows and taking out lights.

It was a bit hard actually getting into a game. Looks like the demo has a few bugs that need to be worked out. But once you're in it's great.

Demos, I don't know how I lived without them. Good stuff!

I'm downloading the Splinter Cell demo right now, but I couldn't find the PSU beta. Did they take it off the marketplace already?

I believe it was only up for download for two days.

I started downloading it a few hours ago. It should be done by now, but my roommates are watching football on the TV so I'm screwed until later tonight I guess
