BTW, the thing aboot ATI being evil is dumb. People used to say the same thing about Nvidia when they came charging up the performance ladder... Its just not familiar to you Nebor, you will get used to ATI being on top. And then, when some other company brings out a card that thrashes ATI, you will be sooo scared.... it will never end. You are doomed to this...

If those 3DMark2003 benchmarks are at 1024x768x32 then the results for their best card are pretty close to that of an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb.

@ Nebor: Based on the information I have, at this point in time, yes. Once I get my 9800XT and my NV38, I'll see if my mind changes (I've already been informed from both companies that I'll be receiving them in a short amount of time).

I just wonder how much the Duo Volari GPUs will cost, and what the power consumption is on a Duo card.

2 GPU cards are probably more expensive to make than 1 GPU cards.

If they price it right, and have really achieved 5600 on 3DMark 2K3, along with decent drivers, they have a chance.

But they need all three things.

1. Pricing
2. Drivers
3. Speed

I remember ther was intrest in a duel Nivida or was it matrox solution called "Wicked Stepsister" or something. It would have used the AGP and adjecent PCI slot for SLI goodness. Unforetuneatly it was vaporware. But now with PCI express coming out SLI might make a comeback, if its at all possible.

Agreed. Video quality on the Parhelia is amazing, it just suffers from performance anxiety.

Heh..was just playing that today as a matter of fact. I have a 256MB Parhelia with 3 Dell P1130 21" Monitors Click the systems link in my sig and check out the setup.

Doesn't look like vaporware to me, even if the performance is not quite up to what was promised - check out this review.
It's in German, but you should be able to understand the benchmarks anyway. Remember they tested a preproduction sample with beta drivers, though, so performance might still improve.

Those benches look pretty damn good for preproduction drivers/card

Not bad, but considering that the video card has 16 PIPELINES AND 2 CORES, its performance is rather poor. Kudos to ATi and nVidia engineers, must not be as easy as it seems
