Yeah, the Yankees are playing terrible baseball. They can't hit their way out of a paper bag right now. I'm confident this team will start to hit soon. Cano is not a .220 hitter, Arod and Posada are coming back, Giambi is gonna hit more, etc. But will it be too late? Thankfully nobody in the division ran away with it yet. Pitching needs help, but Im not as worried about the pitching as I am about the hitting right now.

yea I agree, the Sox arnt exactly playing amazing

i did LOL the other day when Tampa Bay was in 1st However

that is all

As much as I like that comment.....it falls short. Why?

Because NY has sucked in the beginning of the season for the past how many years? However, they do not have Torre to bail them out this year...so maybe the comment is valid

Tampa is not terrible. They have decent starting pitching, a lineup that can hit and they are young, quick and athletic. They are not the joke they once were.

Yea, Tampa Bay is a fun, young and like you said..athletic team. Garza, Kazmir and Shields are a very good 1-2-3 pitching combo and Edwin Jackson has the ability to be a good pitcher. Their pen is still pretty suspect with the exception of Wheeler and Percival. The Tampa Bay management has to somehow keep this group together and get that new stadium built asap to build on what could be a fine team for years. I don't think they'll win the division but I think they will finally have their first winning season..maybe 83 wins? I think they are capable of that.

As for the Yanks they REALLY need Arod and Posada back as they are just way too left heavy and they just can't hit lefty pitching. Arod and Posada will balance the lineup and provide much more pop (duh). At least you'll get Alex back tomorrow and Posada is rehabbing now so he's not too far off.

You jinxed your team Saulbadguy. lol

Brutal game all around with some hideous pitching. Damon is red hot though..better numbers than I figured he would have especially after last year's performance.

Meh - one way or another I figured we'd blow it. Still funny to see the skankees celebrate like that after beating one of the worst teams in the majors.

Yes, good game indeed.

Yep, got soaked. The seats I normally get are about 15 rows up from the field. No overhang.

Bobby Murcer passed away today after a long bout with cancer. He truly seemed like a very nice fellow and I'm sure will be missed by many.

Yankees are rolling right now. 3.5 games behind Boston (3 in the lost column).

Good morning Robinson Cano! As Arod said, the guy couldn't buy a hit the first half of the year, now he's suddenly Ted Williams.

We'll see. Mussina has stepped up and his having his best season in years. Tied for the MLB lead in wins. Nobody expected that from him.

Exactly, no way in hell he can keep up this pace. He'll fall back to earth. Pettite is showing his age and is just ok. Joba has no experience and is a big ?. Though Rivera has been in(h)uman this year, he's probably the only one who is rock solid on that staff.

Ummm, Mussina has changed his whole approach to pitching and it's been working for him all year. There is no reason to think it will suddenly change. He's pitching better than Beckett. Pettitte is just fine. He's the 2nd to last person on the Yankees staff I will worry about after Mo. Joba is not a question mark at all, what are you watching? He's pitched very well all year.

Yeah, he's just a hater. The offense is really gelling right now, especially Cano and Damon coming back. The pitching staff will finally get some run support - I'm sure Joba loves that.
