Better than the 3.4 with DDR 2?
Uh, yes because that video card is worth $250+ by itself.
I thought it was the GTO that was worth that much?

Yup.
BTW, ALL 4700 and 8400 models have DDR2 memory even if they claim to have just DDR.
6800 sells for ~$230.
6800 GTO sells for ~$350.

Do the 4700's with MCE have any kind of tuner card included or what?
Only if they say so. They will appear in the details as "ATI E-HOME WONDER" or something like that.
The same thing that happens when a person adds MCE without configuring a TV card on new systems: an error.Originally posted by: HeroOfPellinor
Why would they sell a system with MCE and no tuner card? What happens when people click the "MyTV" icon?

o rly? The specs for both systems clearly state DDR2:Originally posted by: Genghis505
Bamacre,
Are you sure the 4700's & 8400's all have DDR2? I haven't read anywhere regarding that.

How long has it taken Dell to send all of you their refurb systems? I'm curious because the one I purchased on Monday AM, I've already received it yesterday.. 2 Days (very fast). But the one I purchased Monday PM still has it in "Production" and it says it estmates a ship date of next Monday. I thought that was kind of weird. Unfortunately it was the latter that I'm looking forward to. <sigh>
I hate to quote myself, but I just bought this for $319 shipped:Originally posted by: pxcThose are good, but i'd return my 4700 if I can find a sub-$320 8400 P4 3.2GHz. I found one earlier today, but didn't grab it.

how long have you been sitting on that one? did you get it at the last drop? I never get any 8400s that cheap :|Originally posted by: pxc
Gotta love some of these buy the CPU and OS, get the rest free deals.
The 4700 is going back today after I receive it. That will cost me $15 to ship it back.
That's OK, but IMO you should just look for the cheapest 4700 with enough memory and add a DVD burner on sale elsewhere if you need it. For example, I picked up a 12x DVD burner at staples for $31.50 (clearance) 2 days ago.Originally posted by: sideshow23bob

That wasn't even the one I really wanted. I saw a 8400/3.2/1GB/256MB 6800 system for $530-ish and just missed it. Two $319 8400 systems with 1GB/3.2 popped up 5 and 6 minutes later.Originally posted by: mdetz

I guess I just missed the last one, and was bottom-feeding on your leftovers. :disgust:Originally posted by: pxc

do the 8400's just go a LOT faster than the 4700s?

Some of you guys who are having a hard time grabbing systems should look into the proxomitron script for the dell outlet. I don't use it (so don't PM me!), but it should be fairly easy to look up in google or on FW.
