My brother is looking for a P4 2.8 with 1gb ram a DVDRW and a 17in Flat Panel. He only has a laptop now, so he needs everything (mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc.). Can he get one for under $600.
Yeah, that's fine but the 3000 with P4 2.8, 1GB, 80GB, 17" LCD, DVD burner, etc comes out to $887.Originally posted by: Blinkme323
Awesome, would the Dimension 3000 be better since he doen't game at all.
I've seen similar 530 systems for $200 less, but if you want a 64-bit processor and are not using a script that's OK.Originally posted by: factorydiecast
Just scored a 8400 with the Intel 630 with 2mb cache, 1 gig of ram, 160 sata, x300 vid card . All for 534.00 . Was that a good deal?

If you want the best deals, you pretty much have to use a script. Read a few posts up. I suggested one and where to find it.Originally posted by: factorydiecast

Yeah, that's what you should do.Originally posted by: tishoo
Hmm - or maybe I'll just go hunt down the script myself!
During one of the end of quarter outlet blowouts last year I got so fed up with the evil scripters I sent an email to the the Dell webmaster explaining what was happening and suggesting changes on how they could make the website a problem for scripters.Originally posted by: pxc

I could link it directly, but google makes it very easy to find. Anyways, since I don't use it it would be pointless for people to PM me for help. If anyone wants it, i've already given basic info to find it several posts up.
And yeah, Dell could make the outlet very *script* unfriendly. They have changed a couple of things in the last year... if scripts didn't exist back then it would be harded to figure it out now.

It's in deal discussion on FW. Thankfully.Originally posted by: Lanyap
I'm gonna try and get one of the $229 8400.
BTW, I have not seen this posted at FW yet. If they find out you can forget getting any deals.
