Killer deal if it has a similar processors ...
Factory outlet is not a good deal anymore ... you can get better systems on ebay that have better hardware for less, and they are new, not a refurb. junk ... I bet they give you heavy volume discount when you have a resale license from them !!

I've been trying all week to get a decent deal but the script monkeys got to them first.

I truly doubt you're going to find better deals on eBay that you can get directly from Dell. I spend thousands with them each month, and their online deals (and price mistakes) plus their outlet are always at least a hundred below the lowest eBay price (don't forget that most eBayer's charge at least $50 S&H for laptops and $80 S&H for desktops.

Find out who he is. File lawsuit. That is slander (or libel). Depending on what state in which you live, you may or may not have to prove damages due to the defamation. I am not a lawyer, so I would get a second opinion.

Edit:

Tax on the xps is makes it 1332 for me, I held off. But thanks a lot for the heads up, I'd love to find some more xps g4's. I'm actually going to keep the second one (3.4/1GB/Dual DVD/X850/MCE) I found, and sell off my current system.

Damn, if I didn't have to pay TN sales tax, this would be killer. I pass up so many because of it. TN tax is 9.25%. My mark-ups are maybe 20 to 30%, so tax is a big hit.

That's probably the reason why most Dell reseller's don't give out their eBay info on public forums. You have yours linked in your signature.

People do a lot of stupid things with the anonyminity of the internet.

I wonder how many ebay sellers are actually authorized to resell those systems? If they aren't, I wonder what will happen when one of the ebay buyers tries to get service under the warranty?

They'll get warranty service as long as the warranty was transferred correctly (there is an online form that will take care of that).

I have had zero problems transferring a warranty to a buyer. It takes a minute to do online.

Did you transfer it, or did they do the request? I guess either could do it..

Are you kidding me? I've sold over 40 systems in the past 12 months, purchased from dell outlet, sold on Ebay.

And junk? No way. My first Dell was an 800mhz P3 refurb, it's still going fine and is owned by my dad now. I found my brother an 8300 with a 9800Pro, it's a great system, and very quiet. Most of the newer models are brand new computers, not refurb's. Hardly junk at all. And with their prices on Outlet, you couldn't build systems for less, that's for sure.

I tell them upfront that we can transfer the warranty when they receive the system. When they get it, most e-mail me about it, and I have a standard one-size-fits-all e-mail with the easy instructions that I copy/paste. Takes me 2 seconds.

I don't think it's the script kiddies, I think the drops have died off quite a bit since last week. I could be wrong though ....

What was the "good deal" from the 8:48 drop ?. I missed that one and just got back. the 9:48 didn't look that good.

Either all of the recent drops sucked big time, or the script monkeys snatched up everything before mere mortals like us even got a chance to see the prices. Suddenly, that $470 8400 from a couple days ago (P640/1gig/80gig/CDRWDVD) doesn't seem like such a bad deal.

Probably have a drought, systems not on sale, no coupons. Then 7 to 10 days later, hot deals again.

It's funny, I was sad I missed the sub $300 days (looking for self, not resale) but still happy when I snagged a mid $400 system. Now I'm looking at the drops (out of morbid curosity) and feeling pretty good about the deal I got when I never see anything sub $475 wth less hardware.
