and as for the RAM, 1000 = 1024, 2000 = 2048.Why, on the RAM selection pull down menu, is there an option for 1000 and 1024, and also 2000 and 2048? How do you have 1000 MB of RAM? I'm pretty sure it only comes in powers of 2...
At FW a few people have grabbed some semi-decent deals, but even the best was only average compared to when this thread was alive.Originally posted by: roamerr

Close, but not sure if they are going to have the low priced deals like they had in the past. Depends on how big their inventory is and how good/bad they are doing this quarter. I received a 10% coupon earlier this week but did not see any great deals.Originally posted by: dbleoslow
Is it that time of year again?

The deals are few and far between, but good deals like this pop up sometimes: http://outlet.us.dell.com/Dispatcher?target=SpecPage&serviceTag=FX9KVZWL
That's school donation #2, a Dimension 3000 with a P4 2.8GHz for $164 + $29 shipping.

The deals have been pretty lame lately. I've been helping my sister hunt for desktops for school donations and i haven't seen anything under $174 before shipping. Rarely $199 and $194 P4 2.8GHz systems pop up\. In a week we only managed to get one sub-$200 P4 2.4GHz 4600C, which is actually a pretty nice system vs the other AGP-less low cost 2400/3000 systems. Shipping is killing the deals now.
I bought an Inspiron 6000/CD/DVD combo/P-M 1.6GHz laptop today for $500 (+$14 shipping), but even that is only warm compared to deals from the good times.

Question, if anybody sees this...what is the Dell outlet? Is it possible to apply coupons here at all? I'm finding some laptops that really interest me.
