Well seeing how we don't know that the - at least 8 email chains that contained “information that was top secret at the time they were sent.” (Comeys words) - contained, and no one has seen fit to release that info, I'm going to assume that its not for public consumption and could have the potential to cause issues down the road. If you want to believe they do not......

Comey's words
classified at the confidential level, which is the lowest level of classification.

Top secret info I believe resides on a separate system. When I read this it sounded more like sensitive information but not "danger to national security" stuff, that's why it was being discussed by career employees so freely over emails. Again, not given Hilary a pass, but our government over-classifies a lot of information.

Last week FBI director James Comey publicly rebuked Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information while she was secretary of state. This came at the conclusion of the FBI’s investigation of her use of a personal email server. Hesubsequently testified on the matter before the House Oversight Committee. Comey reported that of more than 30,000 emails sent and received by Clinton, 110 contained classified information with eight email chains containing “information that was top secret at the time they were sent.” Comey concluded that Clinton and her aides were “were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.”

Not my words.

Exactly how Mussolini and Hitler came to power. Good for you, little fascist shit stain.
Why do you believe any of that resided in her emails? It seems people have went to town with their own speculations of what happened.

Here are some facts for you directly from Comey:

But "a lot of what ended up on Secretary Clinton's server ... had been forwarded up the chain ... and then she comment[ed] sometimes on it," Comey told the House committee.

"In most circumstances, it initiated with aides starting the conversation," he said. Only one conversation — consisting of several email chains — involved top-secret information, and "Secretary Clinton not only received but sent e-mails talking about the [top secret] subject."
...
In fact, he said, three emails on Clinton's server had a paragraph "summariz[ing] something" and included a C in parentheses at the beginning of it, indicating the paragraph contained information "classified at the confidential level, which is the lowest level of classification."

But those paragraphs were "down in the body" of the emails, and "none of the emails had headers at the top of the document that said it's classified," Comey said. Because of the improper absence of such headers, it "would be ... reasonable" for Clinton to think the emails did not contain classified information, or she may have missed the C markings buried in the tens of thousands of other emails exchanged, he acknowledged.

Even if she did notice the markings, "I think it's possible — possible — that she didn't understand what a C meant when she saw it in the body of the e-mail like that," he said
Ah, the "stupid and incompetent" defense. Gotta love it.

Ah, the "stupid and incompetent" defense. Gotta love it.

It's the haters need to get over themselves defense. Out of 50,000 emails, one conversation contained top secret information. 3 more had improper confidential markings in the text.

What's revealed is people trying to do their jobs the best they could & making some notable mistakes. What's also revealed is that the tech supplied to the SoS never was up to the task at hand.

It's not like she's in hock to Russian oligarchs, is it? Not like she called out to Vlad & Julian for more email attack slime to win the election is it?

Of course she's not in hock to Russian oligarchs. I mean, sure, they gave her hundreds of millions of dollars. But that was an honest sale of US interests - she's back to even Steven. If that was a loan, then sure, it would be different.

There's no difference in your mind between the clinton foundation & clinton personal income, right? No difference between a couple who paid $43M(30%) in federal taxes over 8 years & donated 11% to charity vs a candidate who won't reveal their tax information at all?

I suppose we'll just have to trust the Donald, the same way as students at Trump U & condo buyers at Trump Baja.

His info is wrong. My post is an exact quote from Comey, not some rag trying to put a spin on things. Again Comey said: Last week FBI director James Comey publicly rebuked Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information while she was secretary of state. You can choose to believe whoever you like, Emperus or the director of the FBI. One will make you look and feel stupid the other will free you.

There's no inconsistency between the statements. 100 emails containing classified information & 3 marked as (c) down in the text aren't contradictory nor is 8 email chains & a single conversation.

My point still stands, that it's an example of people just trying to do their jobs the best they could with what they had to work with. The results & the following of rules were imperfect as always.

In Comey's harshest judgement they were at times extremely careless wrt information we can't even define in situations we can't even appreciate.

If that convinces you that Trump, a complete ignoramus of a flaming asshole, is better suited to be president then you need to question your own sanity.

It must be nice living in your alternate reality where everyone basically agrees with Democratic policies but just don't want to vote for Hillary because she's a woman or Obama because he's black. It just allows you to turn your mind off and stop thinking about reasons why your policy positions are good or people should vote for your candidate and frees you to just use the reptilian part of your brain to attack the opposition.
Ok, what specific Hillary policy proposals do you disagree with? Take a look at her issues page and give me a few examples, preferably with some reasoning. Please try to do this without saying "emails!" or "lies!"..

There's stuff there I don't particularly agree with, but at least I've looked at it.

It was 110 emails that contained Classified info, and eight email CHAINS that contained “information that was top secret at the time they were sent.” Meaning she SENT email in 8 chains that contained TOP SECRET information from an unauthorized server outside of the protections of the State Dept. Those email were never submitted by Hillary when asked for them, they had to be found. That alone is tampering with evidence and failure to follow archiving protocol. IF that many were found exactly how many were not?

What part of anything I said made you think I'm a Trump supporter? FYI I hate Trump as much as I hate Hillary.

He's a full fledged Hillary supporter, he can't understand that people dislike both Trump and Hillary. If you are against Hillary, it must mean you are for Trump. It's amazing that there are people willing to give Hillary a pass on this issue.

Technically that statement could mean someone sent her top secret info that she never resent. You know, it could have been at the end of a chain, or when she replied or forwarded the message she scrubbed it of the classified info, etc.

I think the email thing was stupid, arrogant and irresponsible, but no grand conspiracy to betray the nation. Against a reasonable GOP candidate (though when did that last happen...?) maybe reason to choose the other. But against Trump the email mess up is so minor I don't understand how anyone can even consider that lunatic. I have yet to hear any argument against Hillary other than lier or "emails!". I imagine the GOP are pretty upset that against unpopular Hillary they ended up with the only person even more unpopular! They could have won this one.

It also put the FBI director in the position of potentially crowning the next president, had he indicted. Not an easy position to be in.

Please. When the worst that a straight laced by the book ball breaking federal prosecutor of great renown can say is that you were extremely careless on occasion it probably means you did a decent job, particularly considering that you were SoS dealing with information & situations of which we have no comprehension. It's overblown bullshit of the Birther/Benghazi type intended for consumption by the non- critical thinkers among us.

I disagree, at that level, everything is politics. Someone may appear straight laced and by the book but behind closed doors, there are always politics and deals being made. You can bet that a regular person working for a company that does sensitive projects for the government would have been terminated on the spot for using a personal, non-secure server to store and send emails. You could've been an exemplary worker with perfect attendance but one fuck up on that magnitude is instant termination. It's just that in this case, if you do anything to Hillary, then Trump would be a shoe-in for the presidency and that is scary as fuck.

Terminated on the spot? Possibly. Face criminal charges? No. The sooner people get this distinction through their thick skulls the sooner we can move on from this nothing-burger of a "scandal."

To me, it is still a scandal, not one that is to ship Hillary to jail but for her to do something that gets a person terminated from their job, how can she still be fit to run for Presidency? As a regular office worker, if you have something like that on your employment record, no other company is going to hire you that requires the same security clearances.

You have no grounds whatsoever to besmirch Comey. It's character assassination.

His report came out prior the the DNC. Had he called for indictment Dems likely would have used their superdelegate system to nominate Bernie.

Trump? Trump is just a symptom of what decades of divisive right wing agitprop & shitty ideology have done to degrade the thinking processes of all too many Americans.

Yeh, Republicans- you built this from the ground up. How do you like it now?

I see an honest choice. Clinton, Trump, third party posturing or staying at home & getting drunk.

I'll take Clinton for reasons that should be obvious to anybody who thinks with the head on their shoulders rather than the head on their dick.

Pretty much. Bernie was a good thing during this election, it helped keep Clinton in check a little bit. Question is, was it enough? I'm afraid the answer is no.
