I realized something the other day, journalists and cops are basically the same people. They do jobs that are officially praised and commonly derided. They tend to see themselves as defenders of integrity and aggressive pursuers of the truth, but they're actually known for annoying the shit out of people over petty reasons tangentially related to justice. They're known for giving the most attention to individuals at an extreme end of the economic scale. They aren't really paid that well, and few parents would list that career as their first choice for their kids. The public just does not care about any of these individuals until they become involved in something sensational, but then they're a household name for fifteen minutes. The base of a major party overtly distrusts and covertly works against them, especially in certain contexts.
But is the keyboard mightier than the glock?
