I'm of the opinion that it's because most of those people studied didn't get high every single day and smoke 20 joints each day, like many smokers. Of course I'm generalizing, but it seems a safe generalization

If I pissed on people around me when I drink beer I would tend to agree. When I am near a smoker their smoke smell gets all over me I feel like they are pissing on me. It's rude inconsiderate and I'm not into that.

Who was the bright person who decided that burning stuff and inhaling it was a good idea anyway? I hope there is a special place in hell for that person.
