Why? You simply smelling smoke isn't going to give you cancer. There is far too much volume of air in the outdoors for cigarette smoke to matter at all. If there are 100 people smoking inside a room, such as a bar, then yeah you will be breathing in more smoke (but my god, it's a bar! people drink and smoke at bars!), but outside man cmon. You are just being annoyed by the smell. It would be like saying people aren't allowed to pass gas anymore because it stinks.

Here in Washington smoking is illegal within 25 feet of a public entrance and also prohibited inside any establishment. I totally agree with the new law. Non-smokers should not be subjected to it.

well I could agree more. Some smoker idiot apparently threw a lit cigarette in a city trash bin (at the sidewalk) and began to burn into flames. Apparently I was working at the gas station at the time, so I have to call up 911, boy, the Fire Department dudes are great !

Life is short man and its better enjoy it and do the things you like to then to go fall in the tub or hit by a drunk driver or get sick from something else and enjoy life to its fullest then not to and you die anyway.

i totally agree with you on many points. but you'd be a fool to "cross your fingers" and hope its not lung cancer that takes you out .... why even leave that option on the table?

No kidding! The "I'm gonna die anyway" rationalization is pathetic. If you are, why not just take a long walk off a short pier right now?
