the m1 cert is hard enough at the DMV (in ca) so most ppl will fail and would probably take the MSF course..

It sucks for ppl like us for the insurance bit, but hey we are careful riders.. its those squids im worried about.. but then I dont care on the other end.. I willl buy a cheap bike after some squid wrecks it.

Dude, you really need to quit worrying about your stupid insurance. You don't even own a sportbike; I doubt your insurance is very high to begin with.

Looks ok. F&F was ok. Is it just me or does Samuel L. Jackson usually get bad roles in movies (xXx)?

mine may not be a true sports bike in your terms, but according to the industry it is catergorized as sport / street.. its definately not a standard and definately not a cruiser.. teh riding position is like a sports bike.. may not be that crouched though..
i think i pay enough 600/yr full coverage.. but still i would hate to pay more.. actually it did go up (i tried to see if it went up its not 800/yr for full coverage).
Wow, that's pretty cheap. I'm 19 and pay $450 a year for liability on a '96 Ninja 500. :frown: I got a few quotes for full coverage right around a $1000 a year - for a 500cc twin.Originally posted by: BillGates

Holy crap you're getting screwed dude. I have a '98 TL1000R (full bodywork), am 23, male, single, have 2 speeding tickets and one not-at-fault accident (still shows on my record) and I pay ~$900 a year for full coverage, 50/100/50 coverage, $250 deductibles.
If I can remember of the place I signed up with, I'll let you know. The insurance company is Mendota; they're out of Minnesota.

Yay, I remembered the link!!!
I called their number one afternoon in April and had a quote within 5-10 minutes. I signed up with a credit card and had a confirmation of coverage faxed within 10 minutes, and official paperwork from Mendota within a week. I was very impressed by the service.

Good Guy.. You know I like you.. but a GS is NOT a sportbike.. It's a warmed over 1981 GS450 in a nice frame.. ALSO.. the CA M-class test is so simple it defies reason.. In Japan they have a tiered structure (250-400-750&up) that keeps novices from killing themselves and I think we could use something like that, I just want people to be smart enough to take the class themselves without the state government "forcing" them to.. It would keep them alove longer...
BillGates.. TL1000's RULE!
Everyone.. It's a MOVIE!!!.. Everyone reads too much into this crap.. Gone with the Wind it ANIT. the effect will pass within days of it getting booted from the theater.. I reallly doubt it will cause motorcyclists long term problems.. and if it does.. then it's OUR FAULT>>>!!!!!
WE have to be our own ebasadors of goodwill.. I can't tell you how many people would never think a respectable systems engineer would ride a "gasp" motorcycle.. Until you let them know that it's fun, and you don't have to be crazy..
