A data dump 9.7 gigabytes in size was posted on Tuesday to the dark web using an Onion address accessible only through the Tor browser. The files appear to include member account details and log-ins for the social networking site, touted as the premier site for married individuals seeking partners for affairs. Credit card and other payment transaction details are also part of the dump. AshleyMadison.com claimed to have nearly 40 million users at the time of the breach about a month ago, all apparently in the market for clandestine hookups.

What will make me really laugh is if someone uses this for blackmail, only to find out they are dealing with an open marriage and accomplish nothing but bringing shit down on themselves.

I've heard at least two single guys I know praise that website in the past for it's bounty of cougar tail, so I can't make the assumption that everyone there is a married person.

a local radio station had a caller this morning who claimed a lot of gay men use the site to hookup with married men. apparently many of the married male profiles were quite direct in fishing for dudes.

you got a beef with someobody take them to court. that is why we have laws. but apparently since AM did nothing criminal wrong nor did its members these assholes took it upon themselves to break the law and use blackmail strong arm tactics (shut down or we do X)to get them to close shop.

hope they find these criminals and lock them up for a long time.
