Incredible value, even if you were not getting a free game, makes me wonder if there is something inherently wrong with the card or something. If I needed a midrange card I would buy this in a second.

Pawning GTX660 before it's even out. Sapphire Dual X 950mhz 7950 makes all 660Ti's irrelevant as well and makes the $400 GTX670 seem very overpriced. Sapphire Vapor-X HD7970 Ghz edition is going for $450, undercutting all 680s. Not sure how NV is selling 660Ti/670/680 cards are these prices.

I'd definitely have bought one if it wasn't almost a foot long (11.69"). 1" too long for my case =(

Ok, let's see...

I can sell my 5770 for $50, maybe $70 or so.
I can sell Sleeping Dogs (I have little interest in the game) for $45 or so.
No rebate to wait on.

I'll have to sleep on this, but maybe, just maybe...any indication on how long this price will last?

I love the free market.

This particular 7870 deal is a great value. But the rest of your post, you are quoting AR prices, so here is a 480 dollar gtx 680 with a free AAA game.
Here is a 360.00 GTX 670 with a BL2 also.

A little interesting thing to note -- the card has an unboxing video by Newegg's PC tech guide Paul, where he does some measurements and benchmarks. He found that the two cards he tested were clocked at 1100 MHz out of the box, even though going by the specs they shouldn't be (the HIS IceQ Turbo SKU is supposed to be the one with the factory overclock, and Paul makes it very clear that these are not the Turbo versions of the card). Whether or not you get a card with the factory overclock, it should indicate that these cards have plenty of OCing headroom.

That's impossible. My Sapphire Dual-X 7970 card is 286 mm or 11.26 inches. The 7950 is a smaller card.

The DX 7950 and Sapphire Flex 7950 use the same cooler/shroud. The PCB is 10.5 inches long.

Total length 275mm = 10.83 inches.

But the rest of your post, you are quoting AR prices, so here is a 480 dollar gtx 680 with a free AAA game.

Ya, what about it? The Galaxy $360 card you linked uses a poor reference cooler and costs $40 more than the 7950 Sapphire Dual-X that uses an amazing cooler. Also, OCed vs. OCed, that reference 670 won't stand a chance against an 1150mhz 7950 in terms of performance or noise levels. The 680 card you linked is a reference version. Not sure if you are serious. The 7970 VApor-X GE uses black diamond chokes that guarantee 0 coil whine and it will hit 1200mhz overclock without much effort. That reference 680 card has almost no shot of getting to 1300mhz 24/7 which is what will be needed to even try to come close to a 7970 @ 1200mhz in performance. And then you get to noise levels and temperatures where it will get owned by the Vapor-X, despite still costing more $. And then the elephant in the room: A laundry list of games where a 1200mhz 7970 is owning the 680 (you probably don't need me to repeat it again ) and almost no games left where the 680 is ahead. In other words, a 1200mhz 7970 will be within 10% of the speed of the 1300mhz 680 when NV is leading and when 7970 is ahead it'll be like 20-30% faster. And then you get to 8xMSAA+Mods performance where the 680 is a no show.

After-market 670/680 cards need to drop to $349/$449 to make sense now unless you need PhysX or 3D Vision.

It's very possible that Newegg's product details are wrong, but they state:
Card Dimensions: 11.69" x 5.5" x 1.73"

It's wrong. It doesn't match the measurements on the official Sapphire website, it doesn't logically make sense vs. my DX 7970 card, and it doesn't logically make sense because the FLEX 7950 = same length/same cooler.

Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB OC Version

"The PCB of the card measures ~10.25" in length and stands at ~4.0" in height. It should be noted that the black plastic fan shroud extends past the PCB, so the true length of the card is ~11.0" in length." ~ Legit Reviews

Also,

28 cm length ~ 11.02 inches @ Computerbase.de (1 inch = 2.54 cm)

http://www.hisdigital.com/un/product2-684.shtml

The HIS cooler is kind of floaty and IIRC is a three-slot cooler. It's listed by HIS as being 29.7cm long due to that floaty fan.

Edit to add: Here is one of several reviews of this card online. The difference is only in the factory OC AFAIK. So just clock it up yourself if you want. Should oc to 1200+ MHz without too much trouble since the Guru3D sample (back when process wasn't as mature) hit 1150MHz @ stock voltage. http://www.guru3d.com/article/his-radeon-7870-iceq-turbo-review/23
