How the heck did you get 19 hours? I finished in 11.
Well, 19 hours played according to Steam, probably more like 18. I did all the side quests and explored a lot, wasn't in a hurry. Didn't go for any trophies though, I couldn't care less about trophies.

Are you using a keyboard? it was simple for me, just smash the 'd' key (I think it was 'd')

The farting is by far the hardest part (except for maybe Randy's part). However, many people make the mistake of thinking farting involves mashing keys. It doesn't.

If you look at the sound meter (the oval) there is a very small triangle that rotates around it as you move with a/d. All you need to do is move the triangle to where the sound waves are highest.

oh, that farting! I thought it was one of the first ones where you smashed a button to fart. Yes, the ones with the waves are just pushing A or D until you get the wavy lines and release then right click

Got it.
DOnt like the game pad control. Dont like the times hits and timed blocks. The special abilities are nice but require even more precise timing. MOST of the items you acquire are just garbage from the TV series. They are sold off for chump change while new equipment is expensive.

BUT, the animation is nice, story is funny, battles are basically enjoyable, and theres a bunch of ways to customize your hero. Plenty of unlockable powers and abilities. Junk to collect (which I guess gets you more items). Fun times overall.

I'm about 2 hours into the game. It's surprisingly fun.

Now, I don't really watch South Park. I've caught about 5~ episodes over a decade, so I get the gist of their humor and little else. Even though I'm sure I'm missing out on tons of references, it still managed to made me laugh here and there. The game is overall fun.

It plays very similar to Japanese RPG- especially Chrono Trigger/FF. You walk around the town in fluid 2D motion (Chrono Trigger) and enter into turn-based battle mode (FF/CT) with attack/magic/heal/item commands. In order to keep you busy, during your commands you press buttons in timely manner to obtain bonus damage or block attacks (Super Mario RPG).

I only picked this up because I kept hearing the game is overall decent DESPITE being a franchise/TV series game.

Cons:
1. The action is slow as hell overall... fight encounters are really seldom and advancing story is slow too... you spend most of the time just walking from A to B, between quests. The game should have 3-4x more fighting. And I'm playing it on hard mode.

2. Map and its quest indicators are awful. How do you fvck this up? The markers (shitty gray exclamation points) blend right into the map and I literally stare at the damn thing playing waldo just to find out where I need to go. How do you mess up this SIMPLE thing which hugely affects gameplay?

The graphics are GLORIOUS- it PERFECTLY mimics the show and your character moving about looks and feels just like the TV show.

If you're nostalgic about good old JRPGs of 90s, give this a go.

well damn, just as I feared.

I'll need to part with some scratch and have to put up with uplay.

Love south park and have been trying not to look at this game but I fail.

Missing out on the funniest game ever made. When you die, and they evaluate you to get in heaven it'll be like:
- Did you kill anybody? No: check!
- Did you honor and love your parents? Yes: check!
- Did you like Budweiser beer? No: check!
- Did you play South Park Stick of Truth? No: YOU GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!!!!

It sounds like you just started. Even early on in the game you'll have so much money that the cost of items is inconsequential. The best stuff you usually find though.

$60 is indeed too high, have you checked ebay? I bought it off ebay, the day before release, for $30.

Ebay has a few steam keys at currently at 35 bux, but it's a bid instead of buy it now format.

Finally broke into this a few days ago, it's a little tedious at parts (and as much as I love SP some of the fart jokes wear thin before long) but overall pretty fun. The weapon and armor patches add a surprising amount of depth and give you a lot of neat ways to customize what's most effective for your character - though at least as a thief I can't say I feel like the magic or PP abilities are particularly good.

I really like the 'environment' interactions to pre-emptively defeat enemies without actually engaging in combat. It's a nice touch that helps prevent you dealing with too much trash and encourages you paying attention and doing a little problem solving.

I like the combat, I think the timing element helps keep turn based interesting and I like that enemies have different timing 'cadences' required. Even on hard it's been pretty easy thus far, only trouble I ran into was Al Gore took a few tries.

And walking around seeing so many references and reminders of just how many characters and episodes and jokes and stories SP has told is kind of insane. Walking into the houses and seeing inside some characters' closets loaded with props and mementos is a real trip.

Definitely worth it, looking forward to playing more and I could see myself delving into some of the collecting and sidequests and such.

Well, if you want PP abilities, go mage and get a weapon/armor mod that gives PP on fire damage. You can then just spam your PP abilities all day long as the basic first ability you learn will net you a minimum of 6-12PP each time you use it and it is massive damage once you level it up a bit.
