So it turns out I noticed my chipset fan stopped functioning (like many others), and it probably happened a couple months ago. I didn't notice it until a couple weeks ago.
On top of this, when playing WoW I noticed I would occasionally lose monitor sync and whatever sound was playing would loop, until I reboot the machine. So naturally, once I saw that my chipset fan was not working, I thought the chipset overheating was the problem.
So yesterday, I get my replacement fan from Asus. However, like 10 minutes in while playing 'Act of War' (one of the two games I play), it did the same thing. Is there a possiblity that the damage was already done, or could it be something else?
I don't want to go through the hassle of RMA'ing the board just to have the same problem when I get a new board from Asus.
