An hour or so ago i decided i wanted a clean slate. I previously jailbroke my ipad 1 to see what all the hub bub was about. Was not impressed and it's gotten all cluttered and whatnot, just figured i'd reset it and put some new music on it and stuff.

So i'm not familiar with the new Itunes, i just didn't get it. So instead of restoring from that, i went into settings on ipad and selected erase and reset settings...i assumed it's the same thing.

So it's been an hour and all i see is a blank screen with the rotating wait circling around...did i bork something up? I restored it last year from Itunes once before and it didn't take no where near this long. Not sure what to do.

Try holding the power and home button for 10-15 seconds and see if it reboots and loads then.

If the above does not work, then power the phone off. Open iTunes, then hold the 2 buttons together. It should pop up saying detected iPhone in recovery mode and then factory restore from there. Do this if you think it really stopped loading and are not just being impatient.

In the future, never erase all settings on jailbroken device on the device itself. Erase/restore from itunes.

...And that's where you went wrong. Now you need to do a DFU restore.

Look here, or google "dfu recovery"; the first 20 hits or so will tell you how to do it.

Thanks, that method worked. I'll never jailbreak again, that's for sure.
