Instead of making your GF sleep in another room so you can work on some project, why dont you move your computer. Or maybe even work on your project at a reasonable time of the day and go to bed with your GF at a normal time.

That would make a lot of sense. He kicks his gf out of their bedroom so he can work on a project in there? Why doesn't he just work in the other room?? His house must be built on top of a logic vortex.

man you guys are harsh. I am willing he lives in a studio apartment.

Bedroom is the only room.

I live in a 1 BR apartment right now with my wife. My 21" Trinitron or our 32" Toshiba TV is brutal if you want to sleep.

Leave now. Come back when you've back hand slapped her.

re-read...read that she sleeps in the same bedroom, not a different one.

could be my same situation...My monitor is 10'+ from where we sleep.

Still when she doesn't close her laptop I wake up.

we agree on this issue.

she sleeps in a different bedroom lately

sorry about the confused...for most of us Werk, our lives are not spent here absorbing each and every instance of each new topic.

But carry on! Didn't think it was that confusing.

I could fall asleep in the middle of a death metal concert (if I'm even half-sleepy). I once actually feel asleep at the multiplex: Kill Bill Vol. 1 - but then, I had gone more than 24 hours with no sleep. Point is, it can be done. Tell her to pull the covers over her head. Make great love to her. She ain't going nowhere.

This is one of the many unreasonable & irrelevant things women demand from their men, just to feel dominant and in-control.

I fell asleep at Chronicles of Narnia. Damn that was a boring movie. Pretty big screen too.

Ones where when a kid runs his sword through something and pulls it out, it has blood on it. - as opposed to still looking pristine. I like movies about making soap too.

Put the monitor on standby when sleep is necessary, and disable/remove/conceal the standby indicators?

With my eyes closed, I can still see the flickering of my router's standard green LEDs reflecting off the ceiling, to the point that I need to turn it off at night.

I got the big brother today in a completely impulse driven way (I was at a lab picking up a PC for my sister, when I saw 8 2407FPWs stacked, I don't remember what happened next but I do have one at my disposal now ).

I only allowed myself to pick it up because she sleeps in a different bedroom lately (due to me working late on a project of mine), so I figured she wouldn't mind.

I still have it boxed. I could probably take it back to where I got it and get a refund, but then, that would be admitting my defeat. I love her more than any screen (but then, there's the 3007FPW)... To quote a popular phrase, "what a niggah do?"

And no, house rearrangement is not an option at the moment (gonna happen anyway in few months).

To make things worst, now that I'm in front of the 2005FPW again, I don't really see the reason I got the 24" in the first place (although I'd sure see it once it's up and running, kinda "if you build it they will come").

Cliffs:

1. I get back with a big-a** screen
2. GF won't let me use it because it spreads too much light
3. Instead of solving the problem like a man, I go and biatch about it in ATOT

Can you get a refund on your GF ?

black tape would help.

Most home users don't need there router working at night though so that is easy too.
