OMG SEGWAY!

Heh, that's exactly what I thought. It looks more like a geek's wet dream than something practical (and affordable)

Not too impressed. If I wanted to feel like I was moving around, I'll go outside and move around. I'd much rather play video games on a big screen with a nice loud surround system, not some visor with "surround headphones" or whatever they called those god awful looking things.

Don't get me wrong, Nintendo is revolutionary, and they take a lot of risks, and I am a bigtime fan of their stuff (Still have my SNES and N64), but this really isn't getting me excited.

One thing I was curious about though, they showed a picture of what appeared to be a Gamecube, with an arrow pointing to this new device, does that mean you can plug your GC into it and play existing games through the visor? That'd be a big plus.

Please let this be real. For those of you saying the mainstream isn't ready for this, you only say that because it hasn't been done. If Nintendo could make something like this and price it at $300, I'd bet the nation would go crazy for this stuff if marketed right. Virtual reality gaming? Just that term will perk up many an ear, and something this, dare I say it, "revolutionary", would make news all over the world.

With that said, if this isn't real, then I think Sony just got an idea for the PS4.

This can't be true, but if it is, I'm in sheer awe.

On a side thoguht, though, even if a lot of people worked to make this video, why? Why would they completely speculate about an unreleased system so that they can have a few precious months of confusion? This looks like work that a few trolls would need years to crank out.

It has to be real.

how would something like this cost $300? unless nintendo has already built a time machine.

Sweet stuff, but I can say without doubt that this is entirely a concept video... much like concept cars at auto shows. There may be a working model at some point in time, but you'll never pick one up on a store shelf until you're old and grey.

This thing looks bigger then a toaster, nintendo themselves said it would be around 2 inches tall.

I think it meant backwards compatiblity which is what Nintendo has said the Revolution will have

I don't understand why you guys are writing this off so easily like it's not possible to do. This video is almost certainly a fake until proven real, but IF Nintendo wanted to go this route, I think they could with the technology of today. There have been virtual reality headsets, as much as 10 years ago, for the computer, that at the time were actually priced very reasonable (but not good enough for mass acceptance). The few flaws was the lack of head tracking, lots of people seemed to develop severe headaches when playing for extended periods of time, and there just was no support software wise. I would imagine converting existing games would be no harder than porting a game over to another medium.

I agree this could be fake. But dont you think this is A LOT of wokr and very well made for someone to make just for it to be fake? That is a lot of work and it looks profesional

Hype: Revolution Mock-Up
A new fan-made Revolution video has Nintendo fans marveling at the possibilities. Must see.
by Matt Casamassina

May 13, 2005 - The six-plus minute video appeared on various message boards this afternoon and ever since Nintendo fans everywhere have been fighting to download it. The render, created by an unknown (and very talented) artist or artists, mocks-up what some Nintendo fans would call their dream scenario: a Nintendo Revolution that is so far ahead of the curve that it truly revolutionizes the way people play games. In this case, the console is no longer a console, but a virtual reality headset.

The video is not real, but some fans probably wish it were.

IGN has included the video in downloadable form. Readers are free to check it out. While it's unlikely that the render is at all an indication of the final system, which Nintendo plans to talk about and showcase at E3 2005, it's an impressive design feat nevertheless.

It shows Gamecube connecting to it and an unidentified console. I wonder if this unidentified console is the real Revolution and this headset thing is going to be a costly add on.

If it is fake as IGN reports then Nintendo should take notes.

Someone always has to push the envelope before something can become mainstream.

I have the feeling this may be real...

Picture of what I'm talking about. So the top part is the backwards compatibilty with gamecube, but what's the unknown console (it looks small too like 3 dvd cases big maybe)? Perhaps this video is just part of the revolution and not the main game console.
