Ohh noes!!! I'm a victim of fraudulant charges on my AMEX!

They sent me an Email today letting me know that someone charged $151 at Telaflora. I called up AMEX and they told me that I have to wait 24-48 hours to report it as fraudulant since it's not posted to the system...

I haven't used my AMEX for a couple of weeks when I went to Atlanta for HP training.....I guess someone in the hotel theifed the account from their reports?

BTW....has anyone else had to deal with AMEX on this kind of thing? What do they do? How long do I have to wait on the phone with them? Are they going to issue me another card? Thanks,

Yes. It was someone in the hotel. They say they are sorry and they will return the flowers.

Yeah but I don't know how they got my credit card number!!! I hardly ever use it...but then I get this email from amex:

Dear Ryan ####
Your card ##### ###### ##### is suspected of fraudulent charges at Teleflora for $151. How did they get my credit card number? I mean, don't you have to have the pin number or a signature for for a charge to go through?

I had this happen with my Amex once. I had to speak with a rep on the phone for a total of about 5 minutes, and the matter was taken care of. It was a while ago, but I believe they issued a new card.

I thought they didn't email account numbers?

Maybe they don't care once it is already stolen?
