This this car a BMW M3 by any chance?

If so, screw the service light and get the new iPhone. A person of your status can't be seen carrying around a three year old cell phone!

Some of the early 911's want 12 quarts of oil, I think the current TT's are around 9 quarts.

My decision may hinge on the answer to this question: Does apple require an appointment to purchase a phone or can I be in and out in 5 minutes?

Just get the phone off craigslist and have them drive to you. Problem solved?

The apple store is usually not a slow process for an iPhone...less than an oil change for sure.

My store knows me know so I can just grab it and run. Usually they want to unbox, help you transfer your old phone over, activate and orientate you.

It's a great service and free if you need it.

Can I just pop in a nano sim and be done with it or is there some special procedure?

I'd do the oil change during lunch, and get the phone after work. I don't like to do stuff that isn't fun after I get off of work.

Ask someone with a scanner to scan it, like other people said the check engine light isn't for an oil change. A lot of check engine codes can be for things that aren't a big deal, but if it's something major you should get it fixed right away.

So I called the apple store around 10:50 to verify the phone was in stock, the price, and that the line wasn't long.

I show up at 11:50ish and there were like 50 people in line so I left.

Long story short, I got neither tasks accomplished.

I did use my odbii device and dashcommand to read the code my car is throwing: P0455

P0455 Nissan - EVAP Control System Gross Leak Detected
Possible causes
- Missing or loose fuel cap
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- EVAP system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking

Go to AutoZone and have them check what caused the engine light to come on. It could be something really important that needs to be fixed now and it could be something meaningless. Better to know for sure today so it doesn't bite you in the ass later.

And besides, the world doesn't need yet another sucker with a new iPhone.

Sounds like the infamous "loose gas cap" warning to me. Can you reset it with the Torque app, or whatever the iOS equivalent is?

My check engine light has been on for a loose gas cap for the past 50,000 miles. Every once it a while, it'll go out for days or weeks. Then, it'll come back on. I'll get the code read & gas cap again.

Get an Android. Since you'll have so much extra money, splurge on a roll of electric tape for the light.

Yes, I checked my gas cap and it was loose so I tightened it up and the code was cleared after ~30 min of driving.

I decided to stop by best buy after calling to confirm they would price match. I swiped to pay for my phone and then they wanted to activate it...they won't let me leave without activating a phone for some reason so I decided to have the payment voided. If a retailer won't sell me an off contract verizon iphone 6 then I'll just get an off contract android phone from the billion stores that do offer those without activating.

And lol, best buy charges $7.95 to attach a screen protector. This company is run by fools.

Apple apps have user friendly names. Torque is too technical. Its called iCap. Best app out there for this purpose. That too for only $2.99
