Where's that $4+/gal. gas you've been promising us, Dave?

Election season prompts delay. Wait till January. Happy New Year

besides many stations around the Country did in fact reach around $4 especially on the left coast.
None in my area and I live on the left coast (in case you forgot). I was paying close to $3.20 for premium though for a while.

Historically, gas prices (along with interest rates) go up prior to an election. Nice conspiracy theory though. If it is true, then perhaps you could tell us why gas prices went up (not down) prior to the 2004 election?

Republicans were not in any danger of losing control.

Since when do Republicans and OPEC have anything to do with one another?

Yet another ignorant post by yet another fiscally ignorant hater.

Sorry sir but you are sorely misinformed. Me thinks you have no idea who or what OPEC actually is.

$2.46 is the lowest for regular by me

On the bright side, energy companies are trying to lower their rates.

WTI Crude is sitting at 62.50 a barrel. Gas prices continuing steady decline.

Really? How so? This was fully expected for the Nov Elections.

Dave... you might see prices "low" for the next two years.

Big oil would do that for two years for a chance at another 4 to 6 years of gouging.

If they went right back up after the elections, people would scream. (I would)

But if oil prices are lower for the next two years then its not an issue for 08 at all.

That would be very interesting indeed.

In the meantime Ford, GM and Chysler have taken huge hits continuing to produce gas guzzling SUV monsters after a goodly portion of the U.S. could no longer afford to run them.

We have yet another chance to change to vehicles that get as much mpg or better yet not use oil at all.

Now that gas $ has dropped back the cattle call for an oil alternative will subside by the sheeple

I love how you term everyone other than yourself as "sheeple", when you are the epitome of the definition of that term.

I think you've got a point. Still, this is america and you'd think we could find a more efficient way to do this kind of thing, and cheaper would really be nice. I love to drive, but not at $3 bucks a gallon. I'm not sure I'll ever be rich enough to say that $3 a gallon is a good deal.

$3 a gallon would be NOTHING to feed this thing, but it's more fantasy than anything right now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aptera_hybrid_car

For example, if you're paying $3 a gallon now to feed a 30mpg car, getting 330mpg is like paying ~$0.27 a gallon for the old car.

Will the GOP/OPEC still hold Gas prices around $2 in time for the Elections despite Oil prices going back up???

9-18-2006 Crude oil prices rise

On Friday, the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries said fourth-quarter demand for its oil would be 320,000 barrels a day lower than previously forecast, or 28.86 million barrels per day.

Oil prices rose Monday, reflecting speculation that OPEC may trim output to bolster prices amid lower consumption forecasts.

Speaking of mockery

One platform makes the entire Oil Industry???

9-18-2006 Oil prices up, settle near $64 a barrel after BP announces Thunder Horse down until mid 2008

Oil prices rose Monday after BP PLC said output from a massive Gulf of Mexico platform damaged by last year's Hurricane Dennis would not be restored until mid-2008, at the earliest.

BP's Thunder Horse platform, which has the capacity to produce as much as 250,000 barrels per day of oil and 200 million cubic feet a day of natural gas, had been expected to be running by early 2007.

But the London-based company announced Monday that new subsea equipment failed during a test and that it will need to be rebuilt.
